Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You state a clear position—“I agree with this statement”—and give relevant points about convenience, housing families, and creating work for labourers. The personal example about visiting your uncle’s home also relates to city living. However, the response addresses the question only minimally: it does not explain why tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide enough homes, compare them with alternatives, or develop its supporting points. The claim that a family of five can live there easily is not explained, and the work-opportunity point is only briefly mentioned. The response also falls 100 words short of the required minimum, leaving too little space to develop reasons and examples. Extend each main idea with specific explanation and evidence.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
There is a basic sequence: you give your opinion, mention possible benefits, add a personal example, and return to your position. This gives the reader some sense of direction. However, the response is presented as one continuous paragraph, and the links between ideas are often unclear. For example, the move from “luxurious for the people” to employing labourers is abrupt, while “Once I went to my uncle home” does not clearly show how the anecdote supports building tall blocks. Repeated use of “and” and “because” also makes the connections mechanical. Organise the essay into an introduction, separate body paragraphs for distinct reasons, and a conclusion; use clear linking phrases to show how each example supports your argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some task-related vocabulary, including “large cities,” “apartment blocks,” “convenient,” “labourers,” and “opportunity,” so the main topic is generally identifiable. However, the range is basic and several inaccurate or misspelled choices make the writing difficult to follow at points, such as “talblocks,” “lage city,” and “whoes people.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise: “enough home,” “done my everyday work,” and “made a map from famous engineer.” Aim for accurate collocations and a wider range of housing-related terms, such as “high-rise buildings,” “housing demand,” and “urban land.” Proofread spelling and choose words that express the intended meaning precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
Most sentences use simple patterns, and the reader can understand the broad opinion and some supporting points. There is an attempt at a longer structure in “A family contain at least 5 members can live their easily,” but the clause is not formed correctly. Errors in agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries occur throughout: “A family contain” needs a singular verb, and “I agree with this statement . it is correct” incorrectly separates and punctuates the sentences. The response shows little variety in complex structures, and these recurring errors sometimes obscure relationships between ideas. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then build controlled complex sentences using “because,” “which,” and “although.” Check verb agreement, articles, and punctuation when editing.
