Student answer (Band 5.0)
The best way to provide unlimited houses in big cities it to construct tall buildings and apartment blocks. Nowdays, people have limited place to stay and they donot have areas to build their homes in cities. I completely agree with that to build tall apartments in cities.
On the one hand, tall apartments blocks observe small place and there will be stay more people. Through tall buildings, we can control traffic because many people live in one place then they donot have to go different shops due to different types of shops are available in ground floor. In addition, we can provide enough homes through tall building where everyone can fulfil their dream to have their apartments blocks. For example, due to shortage of areas in cities, lots of people have to stayed in rented room. However they have a apartments then they can live cities with their familys and friends.
Similarly, they can use public transport and service more efficient because they can live close to shop, mall, and school. Moreover, it decrease transportation problems because individuals live with their familys and friends then they donot have to visit their home in every holidays, they can enjoy and spend their free time in cities and it also solve transportation problem. In instance, when residents have spare time, then they visited their home for enjoy, and it increased crowed in cities and there was less vehicles for citizens.
In conclusion, tall apartments observe small areas and public transport and service are more efficient due to they live close to every needed things and it is the best way to provide homes to everyone in large cities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you state, “I completely agree,” and the response stays focused on housing in large cities. You give relevant reasons, including making better use of limited land and living near shops, schools, and public transport. However, the support is often unclear or insufficiently developed. For example, the claim that apartment blocks “control traffic” is not fully explained, and the example about residents visiting their homes during holidays is difficult to connect to the main argument. The response therefore addresses the question but develops its reasons only partially. To strengthen it, explain how high-rise housing increases the number of homes on a limited area of land, and use a specific, clearly relevant example to support each main point.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, and the main position is easy to identify. Paragraphs also group related points, such as land use and access to services. However, progression within the body paragraphs is uneven: several claims are added without clear links, and the example about visiting home during holidays interrupts the discussion of transport. Connectors such as “On the one hand,” “Similarly,” and “Moreover” are used, but some relationships between ideas remain unclear or repetitive. Referencing also causes confusion in phrases such as “they can live close to shop, mall, and school.” Organise each paragraph around one main reason, then explain and illustrate it before moving to the next point.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “tall buildings,” “public transport,” “shortage,” and “transportation problems,” so the reader can generally understand the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning difficult to follow. For instance, “observe small place” does not express the intended idea of using little land, while “rented room” and “crowed” are imprecise or incorrectly formed. Spelling errors such as “Nowdays,” “donot,” and “familys” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of phrases for discussing urban housing and land use, and check spelling and word forms. Aim to express each point directly rather than repeating broad terms such as “problem” and “people.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “because” and “when,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in sentence structure and verb forms appear in examples such as “The best way … it to construct” and “lots of people have to stayed.” Agreement and article use are also unreliable, as in “it decrease transportation problems” and “they have a apartments.” Some long sentences combine several ideas without clear grammatical links, which can make the meaning difficult to follow. Work first on accurate basic sentence patterns, subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb forms after modal verbs. Then build longer sentences by expressing one clear cause-and-effect relationship at a time and checking punctuation.
