Student answer (Band 5.0)

In large cities, there is a large number of people and population. So, the critical thing is to manage ethe lage number of population and provide the facilities to the people becuase as a citizen of a country it is a basic right of the person. To adjust the lage number of people it's important to have enough number of houses for the people.

The best way to provide this facility to the people is to bulid a tall building and make the apartment blocks in the building. It's the most convinent way to adjust the popluation.

I would agree to this statement because it's an efficient way to settle this lage number of people, and tall buildings have the high number if stairs, so by stair climbing people can stay healty and the in less area the large group of people can be adjust.

For the disagreement, the most common examples are the earthquakes. During the earthquakes, the tall building are on risk of fall and they are the danger zone because of their height. When this type of situation came, the building fall and mostle people died on the spot because of height.

In my experience and knowlege there should be less tall buildings built in the hilly areas because mostly the eathquakes comes in the hilly areas. And there are less hospitals and facilities in these areas. Tall builiding are the great option considered for cities but not for the cities that have mountains and hilly areas.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear general position in favour of tall apartment blocks, stating that they are an “efficient way” to house many people in limited space. You also introduce a relevant qualification about earthquake-prone and hilly areas, so the response addresses both the proposal and a limitation. However, the main supporting points are only briefly explained: the claim that stair climbing improves health is not developed, and the earthquake concern would be stronger with a clearer explanation of how building design or local conditions affect risk. The final point about hospitals and facilities is relevant but its connection to the argument could be made more explicit. Develop fewer ideas in greater detail and make your overall extent of agreement clearer.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure: it introduces the housing issue, gives reasons for agreement, then presents a qualification and a concluding view about hilly areas. This helps the reader follow the broad direction of your argument. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and several ideas are placed next to one another without explaining their relationship. For example, the point about stair climbing follows the space-saving argument without a clear link, while “For the disagreement” introduces a counterpoint but does not fully develop it. Repeated references to “large number of people” also make the writing feel repetitive. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example to the claim it supports, with a more decisive concluding sentence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “apartment blocks,” “population,” “earthquakes,” and “hilly areas,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, such as “adjust the population,” “high number if stairs,” and “on risk of fall.” Repetition of “large number” and “people” also restricts precision. There are noticeable spelling errors, including “convinent,” “popluation,” “healty,” and “knowlege,” which reduce the overall control of vocabulary. Build a more accurate set of housing and urban-planning expressions, and check spelling and collocations carefully before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including a reason clause with “because” and a conditional-style point beginning “When this type of situation came.” This shows an effort to connect ideas, but the range remains limited and complex sentences are often faulty. Errors in agreement and sentence construction appear in examples such as “the tall building are on risk of fall” and “the large group of people can be adjust.” Articles and plural forms are also inconsistent, as in “a large number of people” followed by “the high number if stairs.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause to interpret the meaning. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, passive forms, and sentence boundaries, then proofread each sentence for a clear grammatical structure.
