Student answer (Band 5.0)

The best way to provide enough homes in large cities is to build tall apartment blocks, yes i agree with this bt the time population increases day by day and add insult to injury large cities becoming crowded and harming natural habitat like cutting trees, minimizing greenery all because to have land for homes for industries and factories etc. If we build tall apartments in form of building with good concrete than it will save land our greenery and will make a very peaceful environment to live. It will also play role in improving economy of our country.

As we know every thing have its pros and cons so if i ever disagree with this than because of some factors like if buildings aren't made of good concrete than its very dangerous for the people living there, natural disasters like earth quake will collapse buildings in few minutes. Building means you making a society with specific rules and terms, like before doing any thing you have to make sure that it don't effect others or make uncomfortable anyone basically you can't do many things for example, can't turn music volume loud in any event as other's may complain.

In the end i would say if you are making buildings then make a proper system that will handle all the chores of the society its rules and regulations, it's maintainance and must have a complain office.

No doubt with effort of every person you can make the bestest of best.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You state a position—“yes i agree”—and give relevant reasons, including saving land and greenery, alongside a concern about unsafe construction. However, the response only partially develops the task: the discussion of society rules, loud music and a complaints office moves away from whether tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide homes. The economic benefit is also asserted without an example or explanation. The response contains 233 words, so it is 17 words below the 250-word minimum; 16 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. To strengthen the answer, explain how high-rise housing compares with alternatives and develop each relevant reason with a specific example or consequence.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some organisation: the opening gives your view, the next paragraph introduces a qualification, and “In the end” signals a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the broad shape of the response. However, progression is uneven because the second paragraph shifts from building safety to rules for residents, and the final paragraph focuses on managing a society rather than resolving the housing question. Linking phrases such as “As we know” and “No doubt” do not always show the relationship between ideas clearly. Use one paragraph for the benefits of high-rise housing, another for limitations and responses, and a conclusion that directly restates your position. Clearer links between each claim and its explanation would improve flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “population,” “natural habitat,” “concrete,” “natural disasters” and “rules and regulations,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several choices or spellings are inaccurate or informal, which makes parts of the response less clear. For example, “bestest of best” is not appropriate for an academic essay, while “complain office” and “maintainance” are incorrect forms. Phrases such as “add insult to injury” and “peaceful environment” do not precisely express the housing argument. Aim for more precise collocations, such as describing pressure on urban land or the environmental impact of construction, and check spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a conditional idea about buildings not being made of good concrete. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. Examples include “every thing have its pros and cons,” “if buildings aren't made … than its very dangerous,” and “you can't do many things,” where agreement, verb forms and sentence construction need attention. Several sentences run together without clear punctuation, especially the opening, which combines agreement, population growth and environmental effects. Practise building complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and use full stops to separate distinct points. More accurate control of these patterns would make your reasoning easier to understand.
