Student answer (Band 6.0)
In metro cities, tall apartment blocks can be the best method to provide enough homes. I strongly agree with that because in metro cities population is more, sapce is less and land prices are high.
To begin with, metro cities, are overcrowded nowadays. As these cities provide more job opportunities, many people come from different states for jobs. They come their with their families and decide to live their for lifetime. Therefore, these are densly populated cities and space is less for detached homes. Likewise, Delhi, the capital of India, is overcrowded due to its jobs opportunities, most of the people lives in apartments there. It becomes difficult to provide detached houses to everyone as space is less.
Furthermore, land prices are very high. It costs high to first purchase and then construct home on land. Middle income people cannot afford these huge investment. As apart from home they have children and parents to whom they provide good education and medical facilities respectively. They have many expenses and also they save for the future. So, they prefer to choose an apartment according to their budget. For example, in Mumbai, land is beyond the budget for many people. Even to purchase an appartment they have to pay more than their budget. So, they donot even think to purchase land for individual house.
In conclusion, metro cities are the main source of job opportunities for people. it is necessary to provide them home according to their budget. to build an appartment blocks is the best method to provide enough homes in these cities. I believe, in this way, everyone can get their home at affordable price.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you strongly agree that apartment blocks are an effective way to provide homes in large cities. You give two relevant reasons—population density and high land costs—and support them with examples from Delhi and Mumbai. This addresses the task, and the conclusion restates your view. However, the discussion is not equally developed: the point about overcrowding explains why detached houses are difficult to provide, but you could explain more directly how building upwards increases the number of homes. The affordability argument also needs qualification, since you note that even apartments can exceed some people’s budgets. Developing these points and acknowledging a limitation would make the response more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs organised around separate reasons, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “To begin with,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the progression. The examples are placed alongside the relevant claims, which supports the organisation. Some connections are less smooth or precise, however. For instance, “As apart from home they have children and parents…” does not clearly connect the costs of family responsibilities to the decision to choose an apartment. The repeated references to metro cities and limited space also make the progression somewhat mechanical. Use clearer links between each claim and its explanation, and vary referencing to avoid repetition.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main ideas about housing, population and affordability, using relevant terms such as “job opportunities,” “land prices,” “detached houses” and “medical facilities.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, collocation and spelling errors reduce precision. Examples include “population is more,” “land is beyond the budget,” “huge investment,” and the misspellings “sapce,” “densly” and “appartment.” Repeated use of “metro cities,” “home” and “less” also makes the expression less flexible. Aim to use more natural housing-related collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise phrasing would help you express the same relevant ideas with greater clarity and control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple sentences and some longer structures, including clauses beginning with “As” and “Therefore,” and the main meaning is generally clear. There are, however, some recurring errors in agreement, articles, sentence boundaries and punctuation. For example, “most of the people lives” should use a plural verb, while “it is necessary to provide them home” needs an article or plural noun. The sentence beginning “As apart from home…” is also structurally incomplete, and missing spaces after full stops in “lifetime. Therefore” and “future. So” affect accuracy. Work on checking subject–verb agreement and building complete complex sentences; this will improve control while preserving your attempts at varied structures.
