Student answer (Band 5.5)

In today's modern world it is a common belief that the efficient way to provide enough houses in metro cities is to build tall apartment blocks and also its a considerable topic for discussion.

From where i am stand i partly agree with this view up to some extent,so metro cities like mumbai, delhi,Gurgaon,Pune and chennai currently suffering from very crucial crises for shortage of space to build there homes and property rates also rosed up since last few years.

so here i would like to discuss my opinion regarding the management of cities where the tier 1 and 2 cities still have a space in major areas to build up the houses where in large cities now already many areas are conjusted with houses ,shop, buildings and corporate sector and every year its observed large number of imigrants are migrating from other cities and villages to major cities in search of bussiness opportunites and employments so this makes cities overcrowded which is a major problem which we cannot neglect.

I agree we have to build the tall appartments with high tech facilities so generally that provides enough homes for people and that's a fantastic way to save more land and sometimes government also have to cut the trees due to high demand of land which get reduce with this comming up idea so generally we are 20th century right now we have almost all solutions for every problem but still the population management is biggest factor comes here due to high demand the supply also gets increased.

I would like to provide a real life example few years ago in delhi the open plots ratio is at 76% but currently in 2026 the open space ratio decline to 36% only which depicts that how fast land is occupied and at the same time during rainy season delhi faced high flood crisis because water doesn't absorbed by soil and it took 5 days to over come with flood problem .

To conclude this i strongly belive we should have to make tall builidings under government giuidance which will help to get enough houses in such cities also and if we coverup more land then the earth temperature also gets warm up because the rain water does'nt get absorbed by land which leads to condition like flood

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you partly agree that tall apartment blocks can help, and your discussion gives relevant reasons, including limited land, population growth and pressure from migration. The Delhi example also supports your concern about reduced open space and flooding. This addresses the question, but the response develops the benefits of high-rise housing more fully than the limits of relying on it as the best solution. For instance, you mention that some tier 1 and 2 cities still have space, but do not explain how this affects your position or what alternatives might be suitable. Develop that contrast and explain the conditions needed for high-rise construction, such as planning and access to services, to make your argument more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has an overall structure, moving from your position to reasons, an example and a conclusion. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and phrases such as “To conclude” signal the ending. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several points are joined into long sentences, particularly the paragraph beginning “so here i would like to discuss.” Connections between ideas can also feel mechanical or unclear: the shift from available space in smaller cities to migration and overcrowding needs a more explicit link. Use one main point per paragraph, then explain and support it. Clearer referencing and a more varied set of linking expressions would make the argument easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “shortage of space,” “overcrowded,” “open space ratio” and “flood crisis,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “population management” and “high-tech facilities.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause, for example “conjusted,” “imigrants,” “bussiness opportunites” and “property rates also rosed up.” Some phrases are also imprecise or unnatural, such as “the earth temperature also gets warm up.” Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for housing, urban planning and environmental effects. More precise vocabulary would help express your ideas without changing their meaning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses linked with “because” and “which,” and your main position is generally understandable. However, control is inconsistent, especially in longer sentences where several clauses are joined without clear punctuation. Examples include “From where i am stand” and “the open plots ratio is at 76% but currently in 2026 the open space ratio decline to 36%,” which show problems with verb forms and sentence construction. There are also errors in agreement and articles, as in “the population management is biggest factor.” Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly connected supporting clause, and check tense, agreement and punctuation when editing.
