Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is often contended that the most appropriate way to provide enough homes in large cities is to build tall apartment blocks. while some people may hold a different view, I completely agree with this statement because of the non-availabilty of land and desired property ad its very expensive to build a new large home.
To begin with, the primary reason why I agree with this view is that the non-availablity of desired location. this is because people nowadays wanted various facilities near their houses for example, hypermarkets, malls, parks etc. therefore, when apartments will be build these facilities will open near those apartments making things easily accessible.
Furthermore, another significant reason is that its very expensive to build an house of their own and also people saves time by investing in those apartments. A clear example of this can be, one person will frst invest in land and had to pay brokerage to the broker, in addition to that they had to bear hte full cost of bulilding the home by themselves and people with jobs finds it difficult. consequently, when these tall apartments will be made people just have to purchase the fully furrnished apartment without any hassle.
In conclusion, I firmly agree that tall apartments will provide enough homes as they will be easily accessible and will consequently save more time. for thse reasons ,i believe that building tall apartments ae importartant.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear: you completely agree that tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide homes, and you give two relevant reasons—limited land in desirable locations and the cost and effort of building a house independently. However, the response addresses the task only partially because these points are asserted more than explained. For example, the claim that facilities will open near apartments needs a clearer link to how this increases housing provision, and the example about buying a furnished flat does not show why high-rise construction is the best solution compared with alternatives. The response is also 29 words below the 250-word minimum; the 14 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop each reason with explanation and a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The ideas are generally grouped by reason, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “Furthermore” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the basic direction. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the discussion moves from scarce land to nearby facilities without fully explaining the connection, while the second paragraph combines construction costs, saving time and purchasing a furnished apartment. Some linking words, including “therefore” and “consequently,” are used mechanically rather than to show a precise relationship. Improve cohesion by making each paragraph develop one main point in a clear sequence, and use referencing and transitions that explicitly connect the explanation to the claim.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “apartment blocks,” “facilities,” “hypermarkets,” “brokerage” and “fully furnished.” This gives the response enough language to communicate its main ideas. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling errors are noticeable, sometimes making the meaning less clear. Examples include “non-availabilty of desired location,” “build a new large home,” and “people saves time by investing in those apartments.” Spelling errors such as “furrnished,” “bulilding” and “importartant” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise phrases, such as “limited availability of land in desirable areas” and “reduce the time and effort involved in arranging construction.” Proofreading would help you avoid distracting errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause beginning “because” and a conditional example beginning “when.” However, the range remains limited, and attempts at longer structures often contain frequent errors that can make the reader pause. For instance, “people nowadays wanted” has an inconsistent tense, “when apartments will be build” has an incorrect passive form, and “people with jobs finds it difficult” has a subject–verb agreement error. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “build an house” and the lowercase starts after full stops in “while” and “this.” Practise forming accurate present-tense statements and passive constructions, then check agreement, articles and punctuation in each sentence.
