Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argued that constructed tall apartment building is the best method to provide homes to people in urban ares. I strongly agree with this statement because it creates accommudation for other people and the rest of the space is used for other purposes.
On the one hand, tall apartment blocks provide accommudation to other people because individuals who live in a village, working in cities to earn money and they live in cities without their family. If the government constructed tall apartment, they live with their families in cities. As a result, they enjoy fasivals together and enjoy a happy life. For example, in pakistan several individuals working in a city but their families are living in the village, so they find difficulty to spend time with them and sometimes they do not go their village because they have to work in city.
On the other hand, building tall apartment blocks can help the government to utilize the space that is left for other purposes such as parks and entertainment centers. This make the city more organized and beautiful. People can spend time in these places and everyone want to visit this site. This can creates jobs and other opportunities for people. If the government utilize this space on shoping malls and sports ares, people can enjoy all the facilities in his city.
In conclusion, I believe that building tall apartment blocks provides homes to people because the people who belong to village send time with their family and the rest of the space

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear from the opening: you strongly agree that tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide homes. You also give two relevant reasons—housing workers who live apart from their families and freeing land for parks or other facilities—and the Pakistan example helps illustrate the first point. However, the response only partly develops the task: it does not explain clearly why high-rise construction is the best solution compared with alternatives, and the second reason shifts towards how leftover space can be used rather than fully showing how this approach provides enough homes. The conclusion is unfinished, ending with “the rest of the space,” so it does not complete your argument. Develop each reason with clearer explanation and finish by restating your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and an attempted conclusion. This gives the reader a basic route through your ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the first body paragraph moves from workers’ housing needs to family life without explaining the connection to the number of homes available. Some linking phrases, such as “As a result” and “This,” do not always make the relationship between ideas precise. The final sentence is incomplete, which leaves the essay without a clear ending. Use topic sentences that directly state each reason, connect examples explicitly to those reasons, and ensure the conclusion forms a complete final paragraph.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the general subject, including “tall apartment blocks,” “accommodation,” “government,” “parks,” and “opportunities.” However, the range is limited and some wording is repetitive, particularly repeated references to “people,” “city,” and “space.” Several spelling errors are noticeable, including “ares,” “accommudation,” “fasivals,” “shoping,” and “ares,” and some expressions are not natural in context, such as “provide accommodation to other people” and “utilize this space on shoping malls.” These choices sometimes make the intended meaning less clear. Build a wider set of accurate housing and urban-planning expressions, and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including conditional forms such as “If the government constructed tall apartment…” and a result clause beginning “As a result.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “individuals who live in a village, working in cities” lacks a clear grammatical connection, while “This make the city” and “This can creates jobs” have subject–verb and verb-form errors. There are also problems with articles, plurals, and sentence completion, including the unfinished final sentence. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and verb forms when using modals and conditional clauses.
