Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is offten argued by some people that best way to provide enough homes in big cities is to build tall apartment blocks. Although some people might disagree with the statement, I completely agree. Not only because more people can live in the city, but also many people can avail more oppertunities due to bigger city.
There are multiple benefits of making apartment blocks. Firstly, more individuals can live in the city. As due to larger tall building blocks in the city many families can live there. Take an example of Germany, the survey conducted last year and many people want to live in big apartment blocks because it provide you the better environment than home because people living in apartments are very friendly. Consequently, most individuals loves to live in apartments rather than home.
Secondly, there are more oppertunities in big city rather than small city. As in larger cities there is more employment oppertunities and If you wanna do bussiness there is strong community of enterpreneours and you can learn something different from each other that how to emhaces your bussiness and what mistakes you should avoid. For Instance, due to more oppertunities you an easily afford your daily home expenses and can buy anything like car and other daily life things. Therefore,
living in tall apartment blocks is better then living in homes.
To sum up, I beleive that living in apartment blocks of big city is better than home of small cities because it provide you more employment oppertunites and also provide you friendly environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear: you state that you “completely agree” and return to this view in the conclusion. You also give two relevant reasons—housing more residents and access to employment and business opportunities. However, the response only partly addresses the specific claim that tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide enough homes. The second body paragraph focuses mainly on the general advantages of living in a large city, rather than explaining how high-rise construction increases housing supply or why it is preferable to alternatives. The Germany example is also vague and does not clearly support the claim. Develop each reason with a specific explanation or example directly linked to apartment blocks to make the argument more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a concluding paragraph. This helps the reader identify your main points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the first body paragraph moves from housing capacity to an unsupported survey and then to residents being friendly, without showing how these points connect. Several transitions are mechanical or awkward, such as “As due to” and “Therefore,” which follows an example without a clear conclusion. The final “Therefore” also leaves a sentence unfinished before the conclusion. Organise each paragraph around one central reason, then explain and illustrate it in a clear sequence, using linking phrases only where they show a genuine relationship.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “apartment blocks,” “employment opportunities,” “community,” and “daily home expenses,” so the reader can follow the general subject. However, the range is limited and several expressions are repeated, particularly “opportunities” and “big city.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “offten,” “oppertunities,” “enterpreneours,” and “beleive,” and some word combinations are unnatural, including “larger tall building blocks” and “friendly environment than home.” These choices sometimes make the intended meaning less precise. Build a wider set of accurate housing and urban-planning terms, and check spelling and collocations carefully; for example, distinguish housing capacity from the broader benefits of city life.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some complex forms, including “Although some people might disagree with the statement” and “because people living in apartments are very friendly.” However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty or incomplete. For example, “As due to larger tall building blocks in the city many families can live there” is not a complete, well-formed sentence, while “the survey conducted last year and many people want…” lacks a clear grammatical connection. There are frequent errors in agreement and sentence structure, as in “it provide you” and “most individuals loves.” Articles and comparisons are also problematic in “better than home.” Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and sentence boundaries during revision.
