Student answer (Band 6.0)
One of the biggest issues that arise from urbanization, is providing enough living space to everyone in a very limited space. To cope up with this issue, authorities are planning to build tall apartment block in cities. Many people argue that high rise building with more apartment blocks is not a practical solution for this problem as it creates many more issues, while others believe that this is the only possible solution to overcome the growing issue of urbanization. I believe that in order to provide residence to a very large number of people in a very limited space, building apartment blocks is the best practical solution.
On the one hand, people argue that instead of building high rise apartment blocks, government should consider building homes for everyone. High rise buildings have much more safety issues as compared to homes. For examples, some of the recent incidents of short circuits in high rise buildings have resulted in a lot of fatalitites.
On the other hand, othes contend that tall buildings provide home to a very large number of residents in a very limited space. If we explore the option of building homes for everyone, it demands a very large area of land which is practically impossible to provide in large cities. Moreover, building a large number of homes require a lot of restructing in the city which would ultimately lead to congestion and more traffic problems. For example, creating a separate housing society on the outskirts of a city would eventually provide separate homes for everyone but would also demand a good network of roads, good schools, hospitals, markets and many other things. So, a very efficient infrastructure would be required to solve the issues that would arrise due to these societies. Also, the safety concerns in the tall buildings can be easily addressed by implementing strict SOPs.
Therefore, in my opinion, the best possible way to cater the issue of increasing urbanization is to build more apartments as it provides home to a large number of families in a very limited space and donot require the restructuring of the cities and donot cause congestion and traffic issues.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you support tall apartment blocks as the most practical way to house many people in limited urban space. You address the opposing view by mentioning safety risks and give relevant support, including the example of fatalities from electrical incidents. Your explanation of the land and infrastructure demands of building separate homes also responds directly to the question. This meets the task well, while showing some of the development expected at a stronger level. However, the counterargument is only briefly explored, and the safety example is not explained in detail. The claim that apartments do not cause congestion is also asserted rather than demonstrated. Develop these points with clearer reasoning or a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs, and a conclusion that restates your position. The progression from the safety objection to the land-use argument is easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help readers navigate the discussion. Cohesion is sometimes mechanical, however, because the paragraphs rely heavily on these formulaic transitions and repeated references to “high rise” buildings and “homes.” Some links between ideas are abrupt, particularly the move from the housing-society example to safety procedures. The final body paragraph is also dense. Use clearer sentence-level links and divide or streamline that paragraph so each supporting point is easier to track.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “urbanization,” “limited space,” “infrastructure,” “congestion,” and “safety concerns,” which allows you to discuss the issue clearly. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “strict SOPs” and “housing society.” Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, though: “cope up with” and “provide home to” do not express the intended meaning idiomatically, while “restructing” appears to be a misspelling or incorrect form. Spelling slips such as “fatalitites,” “oth es,” and “arrise” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more natural collocations and proofread carefully, especially for repeated topic terms and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex structures, including conditional phrasing (“If we explore the option…”) and a relative clause (“which would ultimately lead to…”). Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “authorities are planning to build tall apartment block” needs a plural noun or an article, and “building a large number of homes require” has a subject–verb agreement error. The opening comma in “urbanization, is” is unnecessary, while “donot” should be written as two words. There are also awkward sentence connections, such as “societies. Also,” where punctuation and spacing need correction. Review articles, agreement, and punctuation, then check each sentence for a complete and correctly linked structure.
