Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this contemporary world, over population make it has a considerable challenge for governments to provide residents in urban areas. There is an ongoing issue whether the constructing skycrapers is the better way to provide homes in cities and is this the better approach or not. I stongly agree with this point because it reduce the space require for living. This essay will examine the statement related issue along with examples before conclusion.
On the one hand, providing homes for individuals in apartments have several advantages. Firstly, it reduce the space require for constructing pelthora of residents in cities because more and more people choose urban areas for job opporunties. Moreover, it is the best approach to decrease the deforestation. For instance, over population highly impact on ecosystem for cutting down the trees, even government also expelled the hills for providing homes in rural areas. As a result constructing tall buliding in cities may have a graeter advantage for environment and individuals to create good bonding when they are living in same buliding.
On the other hand, these appraoch should also have some limiattions. it is hard for them to commute daily using stairs in case of power shortage. Futhermore, it defintly a disaster for them to escape form natural threats like earthquakes, storms and heavy rains. In addition, not only it affects the apartment people , but also people who live near to skycrapes have a significant problems.
In conclusion, eventhough the disadavantages outweigh the advantages, it definity a better ideas to reduce the space and impacts on ecosystem but only the construction improves the structure to buliding to withstand any diseasters.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear in the introduction: you strongly agree that tall apartment buildings are an effective way to provide homes, and the conclusion returns to this view. You give relevant reasons, including using less land and reducing deforestation, and you acknowledge possible disadvantages such as evacuation and commuting difficulties. However, the response addresses the issue only partially because these points are not fully explained or supported. For example, the claim that apartments reduce deforestation needs a clearer link to how building upwards changes land use, while the risks from storms and nearby residents are mentioned without explanation. The conclusion also says the disadvantages outweigh the advantages, which conflicts with your stated agreement. Develop each main reason and keep your position consistent.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting different sides, and a conclusion. The contrast between “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” helps readers follow the broad organisation, and examples are placed with the relevant points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and some links feel mechanical or do not show the relationship between ideas. For instance, the sentence about people forming “good bonding” follows the environmental point without explaining the connection. The conclusion’s claim that disadvantages outweigh advantages also disrupts the line of argument established earlier. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each example explicitly to its main point, and ensure the conclusion accurately reflects the position developed in the essay.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to urban housing and the environment, including “urban areas,” “deforestation,” “ecosystem,” and “natural threats.” These choices show some awareness of the topic, but the range is limited and errors in spelling, word form, and collocation are noticeable enough to make parts of the response difficult to read. Examples include “over population,” “pelthora of residents,” “expelled the hills,” and “a graeter advantage.” Some phrases appear to be attempts at more precise language but do not convey the intended meaning clearly. Build a reliable set of topic-specific expressions and check spelling and collocations carefully. For example, “clear hills” or “cut down trees” would communicate the intended land-use point more naturally than “expelled the hills.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional phrase (“in case of power shortage”) and a contrast structure (“even though”). However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “over population make it has” combines incompatible verb patterns, while “it reduce the space” does not maintain subject–verb agreement. The sentence beginning “not only it affects” also needs a clearer grammatical structure. Aim first for accurate, complete sentences, then add complexity. Check that each subject has the correct verb form, and revise clauses so their relationships are grammatically clear.
