Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this rapidly evolving world the most important issue that has started wide spread debate among people is need of housing for prolifirating population. Constructing high-rise residential blocks is considered the most effective way to accommodate the growing urban population. I firmly believe that building high rise building appartments to accomodate the rapidly growing population is the most effective plan. This essay will examine the benefits of this trend of abode, in addition some potential drawbacks of this approach will also be demonstrated there.

Benefits of this pattern of living are multifaceted. First, its an environment friendly abode pattern, the burden of enormously growing human population on the natural habitats of wild life could be reduced by building high rise buildings that can bear a substantial number of living individuals that could other wise accupy much greater piece of land. Second, people get a chance to make a larger social circle, living with a huge number of neighbours gives a opportunity to meet and learn from peple nearby and get more opportunities,

Though, the benefits far outweigh few superficial negative consequences but it still has some. Most crucial point that creates a concerning approach is the financial view poin of investment in these flats. As hese flats reside in buildings which are demolished after few decades, therefore its not wise to spend a large amount of fortune which does not guarantee inheritance to decendents. There are also some other minor concerns like lack of power, many people live door to door, so hammering and other noisy activities can disterb neighbours without any prior notice.

In conclusion, This housing trend has more benefits than horizontal hosting.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you firmly support high-rise housing, and you give relevant reasons, including using less land and enabling social contact. You also acknowledge drawbacks, such as investment concerns and noise, so the response addresses the main issue and considers more than one perspective. However, some points are not fully explained. For example, the claim that neighbours provide “more opportunities” is not illustrated, while the concern about buildings being demolished after a few decades is asserted without support or a clear link to whether towers are the best way to provide homes. Develop each main reason with a specific explanation or example, and make the comparison with other housing approaches more explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a benefits paragraph, a drawbacks paragraph and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “First,” “Second,” and “Though” help readers follow the broad progression. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, and some links between ideas are unclear. The benefits paragraph ends with a comma after “opportunities,” leaving the thought unfinished, and the transition from environmental benefits to social contact is abrupt. The conclusion, “more benefits than horizontal hosting,” does not clearly restate the argument in natural terms. Use complete sentences, connect each paragraph’s ideas with clearer explanation, and finish with a concise conclusion that directly answers the question.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “accommodate,” “natural habitats,” “substantial number,” and “multifaceted.” This shows an effort to use less common language, but several choices are inaccurate or unnatural and sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. Phrases such as “trend of abode,” “horizontal hosting,” and “creates a concerning approach” do not express the intended ideas clearly; “investment in these flats” is also described in confusing terms. Spelling errors, including “prolifirating,” “accupy,” and “decendents,” further reduce accuracy. Prefer precise, familiar collocations for housing and urban planning, and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple and complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “buildings that can bear a substantial number” and a contrastive opening with “Though.” The overall meaning is generally recoverable, but some grammatical errors and punctuation problems remain. Examples include “its an environment friendly abode pattern” (missing apostrophe and article), “gives a opportunity” (article agreement), and “As these flats reside …, therefore …” (an incorrectly joined cause-and-effect construction). The benefits paragraph also ends with a comma rather than a full stop, and the conclusion begins “This” with an unnecessary capital. Aim for cleaner sentence boundaries and review articles, agreement, and clause connections while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
