Student answer (Band 5.0)
As the population is increaseing day by day its getting hard for the goverments to provide houses to each family in big cities. So its better to built appartments by this accomodation for people will be more easy.
Big cities have more job oppratunities so people migrate from villages to large cities for better earning. So that they can provide their families better lives. there is a saying " big cities hold big dreams" . To filful such dreams people not just need oppratunities but also need living space, food and transportation. When there are no space to live than dreams also start shattering because no one can live with dreams, to fuilfill them a person need to be stress free.
To grow the economy of country , government also need workers but that cannot be possible to let them live on roads. There are thousands of examples of homless students, workers etc.
It is not possible to provied every person with a house which exctly take alot of area. but if we provied apartment to people then it will be alot easier to accomodate them. It will occupay less space and more people can be adjust. Moreover tall buliding also increase the beauty of the city. So its better to have beautiful buildings that can help to capture many people and there will be no homeless persons.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You take a position in favour of apartment blocks and give relevant reasons: they use less land, accommodate more people, and may support workers moving to cities. However, the response only partially develops the task. The claim that tall buildings improve a city’s beauty is asserted rather than explained, and there is little consideration of whether apartment blocks are the best way to provide homes or of possible limitations. The examples of homeless students and workers are general, not specific evidence. The response also falls 22 words short of the required minimum, which limits the space available to explain and support your ideas. Develop each main reason with a clear explanation or example and maintain your position throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic overall structure: it introduces the housing issue, explains why people move to cities, and then presents reasons for apartment construction. This gives the reader a general sense of your argument. However, progression between ideas is sometimes unclear, and several points are placed together without enough explanation. For example, the discussion moves from job opportunities to dreams, then to food and transportation, without showing how each point supports the case for tall blocks. Linking phrases such as “So that” and “Moreover” are used, but connections can feel mechanical or incomplete. Use clearer topic sentences and develop one main idea per paragraph, with references that make the relationship between sentences explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “population,” “job opportunities,” “accommodate,” and “homeless,” so the main subject is generally clear. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “people,” “cities,” and “provide.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, such as “oppratunities,” “filful,” and “occupay,” which can distract the reader. Some expressions are imprecise or unnatural, including “better earning” and “capture many people.” Build a wider set of accurate housing and urban-planning terms, and check spelling carefully. More precise collocations would help you express your ideas clearly without relying on repeated general words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a conditional structure in “if we provied apartment to people then it will be alot easier to accomodate them.” This shows an effort to connect ideas, but the range remains limited and errors occur frequently. Examples include “the population is increaseing,” “its getting hard,” and “there are no space,” where verb forms, agreement, or sentence construction are inaccurate. Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention: “there is a saying…” begins with a lowercase letter, and the quotation is not integrated smoothly. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and complete sentence patterns, then proofread each sentence for one clear subject and verb. Greater control would make your argument easier to follow.
