Student answer (Band 6.0)

Although the advanced facilities and job opportunities are limited to metropolitan cities, therefore a substantial numbers of people moved there. Hence the condstruction of high-rise buildings that offer accommodation to several people under a single roof is an effective way to avoid the city to be over-crowded. In this essay I will eludiate certain authentic reasons on the bases of which I agree with this statement that it is a significant way to provide homes in big urban areas to construct top-ties apartment blocks sufficiently.

To begin with, the population of big cities has been excessively increased with time. Everyone desire to facilitate by the career opportunities and other advancements. If everyone start constrcuting their own house, it will lead to city congestion. Therefore to mitigate this issue, it is highly preferrable to build tall apartmant blocks. Additionally, these appartment offers several benefits to the citizens, they are secure, easy to manage and finanically conveninet to everyone according to their budge.

Furthermore, the infrastructure of metropolitan cities is modified in a way that each sector has several blocks with a bundance of facilities including central parks for everyone particluarly families with their children can visit there anytime for entertaintment, gyms and activity centers for adults, supermarks, schools and hospitals. Therefore, all these establishments are possible solely when the residental area is limited. Consequently, the building of high-rise apartment is the considerable option.

In conclusion, in order to promote the assessible and advanced life of big cities relaying on the tall apartments block for accommodation is a favorable way econimically and socially.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear: you agree that tall apartment blocks are an effective way to provide homes in large cities, and you give relevant reasons, including population growth, congestion, affordability and access to shared facilities. The essay also has a recognisable introduction, supporting paragraphs and conclusion. This meets the task well overall, but some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the claim that apartments are “secure, easy to manage and financially convenient” would be stronger with a brief explanation or example, and the link between limited residential space and the listed facilities is not fully clear. To develop the response further, explain how high-rise housing accommodates more residents on limited land and acknowledge a possible drawback or alternative before reaffirming your view.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response is arranged in a clear overall sequence: it introduces your view, gives two supporting reasons, and concludes consistently. Paragraphing helps distinguish the points about population pressure and urban facilities. You also use linking expressions such as “To begin with,” “Furthermore” and “In conclusion.” However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The opening sentence joins “Although” and “therefore” in a way that makes the relationship between the ideas difficult to follow, while “Therefore” and “Consequently” recur without always showing a precise logical link. The long sentence listing parks, gyms, supermarkets, schools and hospitals also makes the main point harder to track. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make each paragraph’s central claim explicit before adding examples.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “metropolitan cities,” “high-rise buildings,” “congestion,” “infrastructure” and “accommodation.” These choices show an effort to discuss urban housing beyond basic terms. However, spelling and word-choice errors are frequent enough to make the vocabulary less reliable and occasionally slow the reader: examples include “condstruction,” “eludiate,” “top-ties,” “apartmant” and “supermarks.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “facilitate by the career opportunities” and “promote the assessible and advanced life.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. A smaller set of well-controlled terms—such as “access career opportunities,” “high-rise apartment buildings” and “affordable housing”—would communicate your ideas more precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If everyone start… it will lead…” and clauses introduced by “Although” and “that.” This gives the essay some structural variety, and the overall meaning is generally understandable. However, there are some errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction. For instance, “a substantial numbers of people moved” has a number mismatch and an unsuitable tense, while “Everyone desire” and “If everyone start” need singular verb forms. The opening sentence’s “Although… therefore” construction is also grammatically awkward, and “these appartment offers” has a plural-reference agreement problem. Review subject–verb agreement and build complex sentences around one clear grammatical relationship; then proofread punctuation and sentence boundaries.
