Student answer (Band 5.5)
I totally agree that tall apartment blocks are the most effective way to provided sufficient homes in the enormous cities, because living cost is already very expensive everywhere so apartment blocks will provide people their homes in a low cost. Moreover, a country can have more improved infrastructure by building apartments for the save number of residents as live in separate houses.
First and foremost, all countries are suffering with inflation and recession. It is very difficult nowadays for people to build separate houses for them as it require a lot of money however, every person has a dream of his own house, by building apartments, people can have their own personal space in a low cost. For example, Dubai is the bestest example of this tall apartments. People easily own their personal space in a low cost and they enjoy their life in the biggest city of the world.
In addition, most of the countries have developed infrastructure. They have less hospitals and public parks and schools. By building tall apartment blocks for community can save the country's land as well as provide opportunity to people that they can easily access to the parks and hospitals without going far. For instance, in China, government encourage the tallest building construction specially in the big cities so all people can enjoy the opportunities of the large cities which are not available in the small cities.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that building tall apartment blocks is the most effective way to provide sufficient homes in large cities because it can reduce housing costs and save land for essential facilities such as hospitals, schools and public parks.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the opening and conclusion: you strongly support tall apartment blocks, giving affordability and land conservation as your main reasons. Both body paragraphs stay relevant, and the Dubai and China examples help illustrate your points. This meets the task, but the ideas are not developed equally fully. The first paragraph explains how apartments may reduce costs, while the claim that residents can access facilities more easily is asserted rather than explained; the China example also does not clearly show how construction provides enough homes. To strengthen the response, explain the link between high-density housing and the number of homes available, and develop each example with specific, relevant detail.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present separate reasons, and the conclusion restates your position. Signposting such as “First and foremost,” “In addition,” and “In conclusion” makes the progression easy to follow. However, some connections are mechanical, and a few sentences combine several ideas without showing their relationship clearly. For example, the sentence beginning “By building tall apartment blocks for community” moves from saving land to access to facilities, but the link between these points needs clearer explanation. Use more precise referencing and connect each example directly to the claim it supports, rather than relying mainly on standard transition phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main points, including “infrastructure,” “personal space,” “housing costs,” and “essential facilities.” However, the range is limited in places, and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make the writing sound unnatural. Examples include “the bestest example,” “suffering with inflation,” and “for the save number of residents.” Some expressions are also vague, such as “opportunities of the large cities.” Aim for more precise language about housing density, affordability, and urban services, and check whether words naturally combine in English. This would make your argument clearer and more fluent without changing its basic ideas.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, using structures such as “because” and “as well as,” and your meaning is generally understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries. For example, “it require” should be “it requires,” and “government encourage” needs a singular verb form or a plural subject. The opening phrase “the most effective way to provided” also uses the wrong verb form. In addition, the long sentence beginning “It is very difficult nowadays” needs clearer punctuation and sentence structure. Review subject–verb agreement and infinitive forms, and divide long sentences where necessary to improve control.
