Student answer (Band 5.5)
Making the tall apartments is the best option to builds a lots of home in big cities because tall apartments give you a more space to live in cities rather than small homes. i totatlly agree with this view.
on the one hand in todays modern world most of the people try to live in a cities rather than villages and outside of cities because cities provide a lots of apportunities like better job option , good education ,hospitals and many things. and sometimes cities be crowded however if tall apartments are builts in cities most of the family shifts there . tall buildings give a lots of benefits like a city be looking more beautyful and others cities people can easyly live there and tall apartments also give you a comfortable environment.
on the flip side there are some disadvantages also living in a big cities and tall apartments. for example you facing traffic every time and polluted environments. moreover you do not have a rights to modify the structure of tall apartments and you also faces problems with your neighbours. tall apartments also create a risk in earthquakes and you live with a different culture and unknow indiviuals. after that you pay higher rent to live in cities rather than villages and the environment in cities is not good because of crowd.
In conclusion making a tall apartments is a good option in big cities because these apartments help to people those come from another cities however tall apartments do not give you a rights to modify your apartments and you live with unknow neighbours.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear in the opening and conclusion: you agree that tall apartments are a good option for large cities. You also give relevant points about urban services, crowding, and drawbacks such as traffic and limited freedom to alter a home. However, the response only partly develops the central question of whether high-rise construction is the best way to provide enough homes. Several claims, such as buildings making a city “more beautyful” or offering a “comfortable environment,” are not explained, and the disadvantages are listed without showing how they affect your overall view. Develop two or three key reasons with specific explanations or examples, and clarify why the benefits outweigh the drawbacks if you fully agree.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The use of “on the one hand,” “on the flip side,” and “In conclusion” helps signal the broad direction of the essay. However, progression within paragraphs is often list-like: the first body paragraph moves from jobs and education to appearance and comfort without explaining the links between these points. Some connections are also unclear, particularly “after that” before the point about rent. Organise each paragraph around one main idea, then explain and support it; use linking expressions only where they accurately show the relationship between ideas. This would make the argument easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “tall apartments,” “crowded,” “traffic,” “polluted environments,” and “earthquakes,” so the reader can understand the general topic. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repeated, especially “tall apartments” and “cities.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice problems, such as “apportunities,” “beautyful,” and “unknow,” as well as unnatural combinations like “a comfortable environment” in this context. These errors sometimes make the intended meaning less clear. Build a more precise range for housing and urban planning, and check spelling and collocations. For example, refer to “high-rise apartment buildings,” “housing demand,” and “urban infrastructure” where appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a conditional idea beginning “if tall apartments are builts,” and you use basic contrast structures to organise your points. However, complex sentences are often inaccurate, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. Examples include “the best option to builds,” “most of the family shifts,” and “you also faces problems.” Some sentences also lack clear grammatical structure, such as “and sometimes cities be crowded.” Practise forming complete clauses with consistent subjects and verbs, and review articles and plural forms. More accurate control of these basic patterns will make your ideas clearer before you attempt more complex structures.
