Student answer (Band 5.5)

For urbanization, few things are more important than the role of tall building to provide enough home in large cities. In many developed or developing countries, a substantial amount of attention is given to build tall apartment to provide enough home, as it often requires different resources such as sufficient funding, enough land, appropriate equipments.Nowadays many would agree that modern society is beyond its traditional boundaries, and build a tall building is becoming increasingly important for people.Nevertheless, I strongly agree with this statement.

Naturally, tall apartment for enough home in large cities, in the form of secure home, is considered highly important for urbanization, as it creates valuable facilities for improving economic condition, attracted large companies, less land requires. Moreover, it demonstrates remarkable benefit for people, as it influences and improves many important areas of society. If this is adopted by society alike many people can benefit significantly. For instance, when people build tall building, it attract the large companies to rent it for their work which help to improve economic condition.Furthermore, tall building requires less land and provide large amount of peoples home.

Under certain circumstances, however, people may hesitate to support building tall apartment because of several reasons such as large equipments, make too much noices, environmental damages. While building tall apartment widely accepted in many major cities and developed areas, people from poorer or developing regions may face difficulties because of lack of money, limited resources and access. Therefore, the idea of building tall apartment for enough home does not seem always attractive or practical to everyone.

However, from personal perspective, if the goals of urbanization is show that building tall apartment is not merely an option but a necessity, then people may choose to accept a balance approach. It is the responsibility of society to evaluate the role of bulding tall apartment for enough home and decide whether it will bring more benefit than harm. Therefore, I believe that building tall apartment for enough home is beneficial for us.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear in the introduction (“I strongly agree”) and conclusion, and you give relevant reasons, including efficient land use and the possibility of attracting businesses. You also acknowledge drawbacks such as cost and environmental harm, so the response engages with both the benefits and limitations of tall apartment blocks. However, the main supporting ideas are often asserted rather than explained: for example, the claim that towers improve economic conditions needs a clearer account of how this benefits housing provision. The opposing points are also listed briefly and are not weighed against your position. Develop fewer points with specific explanations or examples, and make your degree of agreement more explicit when addressing the drawbacks.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable introduction, body paragraphs and conclusion, and signposts such as “Moreover,” “For instance,” and “However” help readers follow the broad direction. The overall progression is less clear within the paragraphs, though: several ideas are compressed into lists, such as “large equipments, make too much noices, environmental damages,” without showing how they connect. Some linking phrases also create awkward or unclear relationships, and the final paragraph repeats the conclusion rather than synthesising the discussion. Organise each body paragraph around one main claim, then explain and illustrate it before moving on. Clearer referencing and more precise links between claims would make the argument easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “urbanization,” “traditional boundaries,” “limited resources,” and “environmental damages,” and some choices show an effort to express abstract ideas. However, the range is limited by repeated phrases such as “tall apartment” and “enough home,” while several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, including “secure home” and “a balance approach.” Spelling and word-form errors such as “bulding,” “equipments,” and “noices” also reduce precision. Build a more varied set of accurate terms for housing and urban development, and check whether each noun, adjective and collocation fits its context. This would help your ideas sound clearer and more natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning with “as,” “when,” and “if.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to process. For example, “when people build tall building, it attract the large companies … which help” has problems with articles, number agreement and verb forms. “If the goals of urbanization is show” also contains an incomplete verb pattern and agreement error. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are sometimes missing, as in the opening paragraph, where several sentences run together. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles and complete clause structures, then proofread for full stops and commas. Shorter, controlled sentences would improve clarity while you develop complex forms.
