Student answer (Band 6.0)
Population is increasing in large cities with every passing year due to urban migration, This increase in population have rose the demand to accomodate this large number of people.
Building tall apartment blocks is the most effective strategy to manage the need of roof for every citizen in metropolitan cities. This allows many people to accomodate in small space. Due to overcrowdedness there is not enough place for everyone to build is own house in city area this will also increase the overall land prices in cities due to bulk of demand.
Today high buildings with alot of apartment is the most efficient way to meet future demands. Many big cities in the present world use this strategy like in New York land prices were high so many people cannot own a house individually so government took action to make buildings with residential apartments on top floors and comercial shops on the ground floor which allow many people to live in one place near all the amenities and with spending less money as compare to build his own house away from the main city.
Contrastly, There are some disadvantages to live in apartment one of them is you do not have a personal car parking and also in apartment you do not have open spaces or lawn, They are not as spacious and airy like a house .
Mostly apartment buildings are present in noisy city areas and it is not as peaceful as house and due to shared hallways there is less privacy in apartments.
However, Apartment blocks are the need of present world many developed countries adapt this model of living for there citizens.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you support tall apartment blocks as an effective way to house city populations, while acknowledging drawbacks. You address both the benefits and disadvantages, with relevant points about land prices, proximity to amenities, parking, open space and privacy. The New York example also helps illustrate your argument. However, some ideas are asserted rather than fully explained: for instance, the claim that shops on lower floors help residents could be linked more explicitly to how this makes apartment living a better solution. The disadvantages are listed but not weighed against the benefits, and the conclusion mainly repeats your view. Develop the comparison and explain why the advantages outweigh the drawbacks to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: it introduces the housing problem, explains the case for apartment blocks, presents disadvantages, and ends by reaffirming support. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and connectors such as “However” signal a change in direction. At times, though, the progression within paragraphs is less controlled. The second paragraph moves from limited land to house prices without clearly showing the link, while the New York example combines several points in one long sentence. Some transitions, including “Contrastly,” are awkward, and the final paragraph adds little beyond the earlier position. Use clearer links between cause and effect, and make the conclusion briefly synthesise the comparison.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “urban migration,” “metropolitan cities,” “residential apartments,” “amenities,” and “privacy.” These choices communicate the main ideas and show some attempt to use more specific language. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “need of roof,” “overcrowdedness,” “personal car parking,” and “as compare to.” Spelling and word-form errors also occur in “accomodate,” “comercial,” and “there citizens.” These do not prevent understanding, but they reduce precision and naturalness. Aim to learn common housing-related collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully; this will make your vocabulary more flexible and accurate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including cause-and-effect clauses and a contrastive sentence beginning “However.” The main argument remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “This increase in population have rose” has incorrect subject–verb agreement and verb form; “everyone to build is own house” has an incorrect possessive; and “which allow many people” does not agree with its subject. Several sentences also run together, particularly the New York example, where clearer sentence boundaries would improve control. Review agreement, past-tense forms, possessives, and punctuation, and divide long sentences into manageable units. More accurate control of these structures would strengthen the response.
