Student answer (Band 5.0)

The best approch in providing enough homes in large cities is to build tall apartment blocks is the best way to give shelter to the people and acquire less place.

I am agree with this approach in some extend because the are facilating the people and also give the more people to live in the city and have approach to the all the facilities like hospitals ,schools ,collages and better infrastructure. By doing this they may benefit more people because all over the country people try to get job in the large and main city and after geting the jobs they have very big issue in finding the palce to live which must be in the city and near the office ,so that they can be more comfortable and enjoy there life .one more thing is that by doing this they bring alot of people in conjested place by this they can increase the commercial activity in that region .

On the other hand at some extend i am disagree with this because in the tall building they must have to build the best way to exit .I think that the issue will be during the earthquicks because in the tall building there are alot of families and old age people they need to evaquiacated fast and reduce the injuries .one more issue will arise is that the government can not handle more people in a small place because they need facilities like trival in a train or bus and they also need more safty and food and frish water , all of these a the burdon on the authorities and with out plan they can get collapes and then all the people will migrate to the best city and in better place to live .

In conclusion i will say that they have to make the best plan to provide enough homes to the people in the large cities by building the tall apartment block

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides of the question and give a qualified position: you support tall blocks for housing access and commercial activity, while recognising evacuation and pressure on public services as drawbacks. These points are relevant, but the position is not fully clear: “I am agree with this approach in some extend” is followed by “at some extend i am disagree,” and the conclusion mainly calls for planning rather than stating how far you agree. Several ideas also need fuller explanation. For example, explain how apartment blocks specifically improve access to jobs, and give a clearer example of how transport or water services could become overloaded. A more consistent position and better-developed support would strengthen the response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting apartment blocks, a paragraph presenting concerns, and a conclusion. The contrast marker “On the other hand” helps signal the shift in viewpoint, and the ideas generally remain connected to the topic. However, progression within the paragraphs is often difficult to follow because many points are joined into long chains with commas and repeated links such as “one more thing” and “by doing this.” Some references are unclear, particularly “they” in the opening of the second body paragraph. Use clearer topic sentences, divide related points into shorter sentences, and make each paragraph develop one main idea in a logical order.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt vocabulary relevant to urban housing and its effects, including “commercial activity,” “infrastructure,” “evacuated,” and “authorities.” This shows some ability to discuss the topic beyond very basic terms. However, the range is limited and many spelling and word-choice errors make the writing less clear, for example “approch,” “conjested,” “frish water,” and “burdon.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “acquire less place” and “get job in the large and main city.” Choose more precise collocations and check spelling carefully. For instance, describe apartment blocks as “using less land,” and refer to “access to public services” rather than “approach to the all the facilities.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with reasons and contrasts, but control is uneven. Errors in verb forms and sentence construction occur throughout, as in “I am agree,” “they are facilating,” and “after geting the jobs they have very big issue.” Articles, agreement, and plurals are also unreliable: “in the tall building” and “all of these a the burdon.” Long sentences joined mainly by commas make relationships between clauses hard to follow, and punctuation is inconsistent. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using conjunctions such as “because,” “although,” and “therefore.” Check subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb patterns when editing.
