Student answer (Band 4.5)
At this time people need a houses in large cities and the best way is build tall apartment for people. I personally agree with this statement because in this time house is a very big problem people have not house and the people have not the houses because government did not permission to build the tall building.
Now, I would like to talk about a consversation in large citits. Some cities have to build a tall appartment for the people because at this every people think I go to cities because cities have many things such as a school, hospital and good roads and this reason many people go to the cities and I see many people think to go cities because some people have not any house to live in these big cities. The other hand I see many people go to the cities and the they have nothing to live their at this moments people live in a rent house. I think rent house is very expensive and rent house contains many area and the other hand I see large builgings contains a large area but these building made a huge houses and the shopping mall. Some cities have not big bulidings because government has not give to permission to build a big buildings.
I think when which city have made a building some people have to do work in their city and then this building is complete people live in this building. Moreover, I think made a buildings this gives us work and living area for people. Why I prefer to build a big bulidings because big buildings have a many thing this buildings have a shopping mall and the school and the many other easy things for people. Sometimes big buildings have a hospital for their buildings living people.
In my opinion, in which cities have no big buildings we help to build a big buildings. We make a application to the government to made a big buildings. In this think we help a lot of people to live a big cities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You state a relevant position in the opening: “I personally agree,” and your main point—that apartment blocks can provide homes where many people move for services and work—addresses the topic. You also mention possible benefits such as employment and access to shops, schools, and hospitals. However, the response only partially develops the argument. Several points are repeated, and the discussion of rent and government permission is difficult to connect clearly to why tall blocks are the best solution. The essay also does not consider any limitation or alternative, so the extent of your agreement is not fully explained. To strengthen the response, develop two clear reasons with specific examples and explain how each supports your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a concluding paragraph, so there is an attempt to organise ideas into stages. Some linking expressions, including “Moreover” and “In my opinion,” also signal relationships between points. However, progression is difficult to follow because ideas are repeated or joined without clear connections. For example, the second paragraph moves between people relocating, expensive rent, building size, shopping malls, and government permission. Phrases such as “the other hand” are used without a clear contrast, and references like “these buildings” do not always make the intended point clear. Group related reasons together, use topic sentences, and make each linking phrase express the relationship between the ideas accurately.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some vocabulary relevant to urban housing, including “apartment,” “rent,” “government,” “shopping mall,” and “living area.” This gives the reader a general sense of the topic. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “big buildings,” “people,” and “cities.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice problems, such as “consversation,” “citits,” “appartment,” and “bulidings,” which can slow the reader. Some combinations are unclear or unnatural, for example “rent house contains many area” and “made a huge houses.” Build a more precise set of phrases for housing and urban growth, and check spelling and collocations so your meaning is easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to express reasons and add detail using longer sentences, including clauses beginning with “because” and “when.” However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and many attempts at complex sentences are faulty, sometimes making relationships between ideas hard to follow. Errors occur with articles, plurals, agreement, and verb forms: “a houses,” “every people think,” “government did not permission,” and “this building is complete people live.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need more control, as several ideas are joined into long strings. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with one clear subordinate clause. Check subject–verb agreement, singular and plural forms, and verb patterns when revising.
