Student answer (Band 5.5)
A thought of establishing large building apartments has become increasingly common. this is because change in lifestyle has taken mammoth demensions. It is often argued that tall buildings is not comfortable. I Completely agree with this statement because its has numerous benefits.
To begin with, many wonderful facets are associated with this trend that tall buildings are consume less space. It not only benficial for big cities, but also for people. nowadays people love to stay in tall buildings, because of the sky view and freash air. Tall buildings saved land also because one building can make thousands of houses. for example, In less space contractors made a swimming pool and a gym also on the groundfloor in tall buildings. AS A RESULT, It provides alot of facillities. Moreover, It protect green spaces. because the house took less space contractors made a lot of parks in every colony. people can enjoy fresh air and it creates healthy environment and realeses fresh carbon dioxide. Governments use that empty space for tress. which is very good for the people.
However, many commom criticism are observed that some people believe that Tall buildings provides enough homes but its not cruical for everyone. The dominant reason is, houses are very congested. People say the houses are small even not comfortable. for example, poeple cannot do social gatherings in that houses. because of the kitchens are small. AS a result, many congested spaces do not provide comfort to people. In additon, It is time consuming, some people believe lifts take alot of time to reach up and down. sometimes lift are full have wait for long time. That is the irritating part for some people.
In conclusion, Although there are some disadvantages of tall buildings such as houses being congested and time-consuming, yet I believe it has numerous benefits. nowadays ,people love to stay in apaprtments rather than land house.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree that tall apartment blocks are an effective way to provide homes, and you give relevant reasons, including efficient land use, shared facilities and the preservation of green space. You also acknowledge drawbacks such as small homes and delays using lifts, so the response addresses both sides of the question. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the claim that apartments create “healthy environment” and “realeses fresh carbon dioxide” is unclear, and the example about kitchens does not clearly show why social gatherings are difficult. Develop each main point with a more precise explanation or example, and make the comparison with other housing options explicit to strengthen your argument.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion that restates your view. Linking phrases such as “To begin with,” “Moreover,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, and several sentences are joined or punctuated in ways that make the relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “Governments use that empty space for tress. which is very good for the people” is not smoothly connected, while repeated “because” and “As a result” links do not always show a clear cause and effect. Use clearer sentence boundaries and refer back to ideas precisely; organise each paragraph around one main point and its explanation.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “congested,” “green spaces,” “facilities,” and “social gatherings,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts to use less common expressions, such as “dominant reason” and “mammoth dimensions,” but some choices are inaccurate or unnatural in context. Spelling errors such as “demensions,” “benficial,” “freash,” and “facillities” are noticeable, and phrases like “fresh carbon dioxide” and “land house” make parts of the meaning unclear. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations for housing and urban planning. Prefer precise, natural phrases over ambitious wording when you are unsure of the meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple sentences and more complex forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “although,” and “that.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles and punctuation occur across the response. Examples include “tall buildings is not comfortable,” “tall buildings are consume less space,” and “It protect green spaces.” Some sentence fragments also appear, such as “because the house took less space” and “which is very good for the people.” Improve control by checking subject–verb agreement and ensuring each sentence has a complete main clause. Practise combining ideas with accurate subordinate clauses, and use consistent capitalisation and punctuation.
