Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, many real estate giants and government thinks, to provide home in tall buildings because it is one of the efficient way to live with enough amount of space, and with extra benefits given by authorities. I agree with the statement because, it has several advantages with fewer disadvantages, Which i will discuss in below paragraph.

To begin with the reason, why is this a best way to provide apartment in tall building as a home. The main reason is, "many people comes from different city for opportunities in bigger city, thus people do not have enough financial capability, and those people choose to stay in building apartments because of the budget issues". For example, individuals who came in big city for study, prefers to stay in apartment as they need to pay lower rent than gaint houses. As a result, a budget is the most noticeable reason, that why people will chose to stay in these tall apartments.

Apart from that, what are the benefits for residents, government and real estate builders. Taller buildings will be made in less space than it required to make a mansion, which can be used for many purpose in future. An employment gets higher because of facilities. (buildings available in low budget). In addition, it will be good for elder persons to stay in building, because they do not have to do the extra hardwork to clean the home.

Overall, I agree with statement because as we saw, why its good to make all apartments and what people and providers will get in returns. As a result, both will gets their own benefits in their point of view. So far, it is the best way to build buildings in large cities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you agree that tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide homes, and you give relevant reasons, including lower rents for students and making more efficient use of land. However, the response addresses the question only partially because the reasons are not consistently explained or supported. The point about employment and benefits for builders is introduced briefly but not developed, and the claim that older residents benefit from not having to clean a large home is not clearly connected to providing enough housing. To strengthen the response, explain how building upwards increases the number of homes available and compare this approach with alternatives, such as expanding suburbs, while maintaining your stated position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and phrases such as “To begin with” and “In addition” signal the movement between points. However, the overall progression is not always clear: the second body paragraph shifts from land use to employment and then to older residents without explaining how these ideas connect. Some linking language is also mechanical or unclear, as in “Apart from that, what are the benefits…” and “As a result” where the relationship between ideas is not fully established. The conclusion repeats the general position rather than drawing together the main reasons. Group related points, use clearer topic sentences, and make each link between cause and result explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “real estate,” “financial capability,” “rent,” and “facilities,” so the reader can follow the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are noticeably inaccurate, sometimes making meaning less clear. For example, “enough amount of space” is unnatural, “giant houses” does not clearly express the intended comparison, and “what people and providers will get in returns” is awkward. There are also spelling and word-form problems, such as “gaint” and “hardwork.” Aim to learn common housing collocations and choose precise terms for your ideas; proofreading spelling and checking whether phrases sound natural will make your argument easier to understand.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a cause-and-effect structure beginning “because of the budget issues,” but complex sentences are often faulty and errors occur frequently. Examples include “many real estate giants and government thinks,” where the subject and verb do not agree, and “many people comes,” which has the same problem. Articles and sentence construction are also inconsistent, as in “why is this a best way” and “I agree with the statement because, it has.” The conclusion contains “both will gets,” which also shows difficulty controlling verb forms. These errors sometimes make the reader pause, although the main message remains understandable. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries before adding more complex structures.
