Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent years, urbanization has become increasingly pouplar. More and more individuals are moved to urban areas which causes residential issues in cities. The best practical solution it that the residential buildings should be made taller to provide homes for citizens. I completely agree with this view because it will help society and individuals
Firstly, it will help society. This is because it will create more space for institution and playgrounds. In this school the children will get thier education and serve the society and in the playgrounds the younger youth can focus on thier physical fitness. Secondly, it will also benefit individuals because there is no need to construct another building for his own use. This building will required additional construction expenditure which can be save by making the buildings more taller. They can use this saving for growing thier businesses which will make them financial stable.
This development would also benfit the government. This is because there is no need to provide facilities everywhere. The government should only provide facilities where skyscraper are located. This will lead to development because the government should use it to enhance the the country's infrastructure and improve government organizations. This will lead to many employment opportunities for youth our country.
Although there also some disadvantages. First and foremost, making the building more taller will increase pressure on foundation. Moreover, it will be very dangerous in alarming situations because the residents will take time to reach ground level. This will sometimes leads to injuries. I believe that these issues can be solved by making the foundations more strong and installing advanced facilities like elevator in skyscrapers.
In conclusion, making the bulding more taller has some demerits but the merits are more useful and practical that's why i strongly agree to this view.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction (“I completely agree”) and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address the prompt by giving reasons related to community space, construction costs and government services, and you acknowledge drawbacks such as foundation pressure and evacuation difficulties. These are relevant points, but they are not all developed equally: the claims that taller buildings create space for schools and playgrounds, or that governments can concentrate facilities near skyscrapers, need clearer explanation or a concrete example. The response therefore covers the task, while some supporting ideas remain general or unclear. To strengthen it, explain how high-rise housing directly increases available land and support each main reason with a specific example or consequence.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for social and individual benefits, government benefits, disadvantages, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “Moreover,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main stages. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, with repeated openings such as “This is because” and “This will lead to.” Some references are also unclear: “In this school” does not connect smoothly to the preceding point about space, and “they” in the discussion of savings could refer to more than one group. Improve progression by linking each example explicitly to the claim it supports and varying transitions rather than relying on repeated formulaic phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to urban housing and public development, including “residential issues,” “construction expenditure,” “infrastructure,” and “employment opportunities.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main argument, but the range is limited by repeated general words such as “building,” “facilities,” and “development.” Several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors also reduce precision, including “pouplar,” “benfit,” and “bulding,” while phrases such as “more taller” and “financial stable” are not natural English. Aim to use more precise housing-related terms and check spelling and collocations carefully. For example, distinguish between “high-rise apartments,” “public amenities,” and “urban land” rather than repeating broad terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including cause-and-effect clauses (“because it will help society”) and a concession (“Although there also some disadvantages”). The main ideas are generally understandable, but some grammatical errors recur and occasionally make relationships less clear. Examples include “More and more individuals are moved” where the passive form is unsuitable, “This building will required,” and “This will sometimes leads,” which show problems with verb forms. There are also agreement and article issues in phrases such as “facilities everywhere” and “where skyscraper are located,” as well as the incomplete clause “Although there also some disadvantages.” Review subject–verb agreement, verb forms after modal verbs, and complete clause construction, then proofread for these patterns.
