Student answer (Band 5.0)

In the modern world, housing or residence has beacme a huge reason of headache. In the past owning a house was relatively cheaper as compared to today.Especially in large cities propeties have become far to expensive.Nowadays people prefer to live in apartment blocks in big cities beacuse it is much convinient.

I partially agree to this stament.Growing population and social benefits are the major culprits for why people think it is better to live in apartments blocks in a big city rather than owning a house.Nowadays population has increased markedly compared to the past especially in the 21st century. It is the the common nature of humans to prefer a place which provides more benefits and has a great amount of oppurtunities.Due to this reason majority of the people prefer living in a big city rather than a infamous city.Furthermore as the the residents increase the value of the property increases. For this most people cant afford to buy their own house in big city beacuse the price is much more than their budget. Therefore people prefer living in small apartments in buildings

While it is true that that living in big city has many benefits nomatter the area of the residence. But in my opinion having your own seprate home doesnt matter the size is much better than living in a tall buildings apartment blocks.

To sum it up,yes living in a apartment in a large city has its advantages but for me it does not provide the mental piece which your mind requires or needs when you get home after a tiring day.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear partial-disagreement position, especially when you contrast the practical appeal of apartments with the comfort of having a separate home. However, the response only partly answers whether tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide enough homes: much of the discussion shifts to why people choose city living and why property is expensive, rather than evaluating high-rise construction as a housing solution. The claim that population growth increases property values is relevant, but it needs explanation and a specific example. Your point about mental peace is also asserted rather than supported. Develop both sides around housing capacity, affordability, and drawbacks such as limited space, then make your judgement explicit throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has an introduction, a main discussion, a contrasting paragraph, and a conclusion, so the reader can identify its broad structure. Linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “Therefore,” and “To sum it up” help signal relationships between points. However, progression is uneven: the second paragraph moves from population growth to city opportunities and then property prices without clearly showing how these points establish that tall blocks are the best solution. The contrast beginning “While it is true” is not fully connected to the earlier argument, and the conclusion repeats the preference for a separate home without resolving the housing question. Organise each paragraph around one claim and use clearer references to connect evidence to that claim.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “population,” “property,” “apartments,” and “benefits,” and attempt phrases such as “increased markedly” and “tiring day.” However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or informal choices make parts of the argument less clear, including “culprits” for causes and “infamous city” where the intended meaning is unclear. Spelling errors such as “beacme,” “propeties,” “convinient,” and “oppurtunities” are noticeable. Some phrases are also awkward, for example “a huge reason of headache” and “the mental piece.” Build a more precise housing-related vocabulary and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a cause-and-effect construction beginning “Due to this reason,” and a contrast introduced by “While it is true.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. Examples include “housing … has beacme” (incorrect verb form), “the the common nature” (repeated article), “majority of the people prefer” (article and agreement pattern), and “living in a tall buildings apartment blocks” (number and sentence structure). Punctuation and spacing are also inconsistent, with missing spaces after full stops and commas. Practise accurate article use, singular and plural forms, and complete sentence construction before adding more complex clauses.
