Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You attempt to discuss both support for tall apartment blocks and objections to them, and your conclusion indicates agreement. However, the position is difficult to identify until the final paragraph, and the reasons are not explained clearly enough to answer the question fully. The positive side refers vaguely to “benefit” and “enough in the large cities,” while the opposing paragraph mentions noise and a preference for beautiful houses without explaining how these points relate to providing enough homes. The references to reports from Pakistan and India are too unclear to function as relevant, developed examples. State your degree of agreement in the introduction, then explain specific benefits and limitations with clear supporting details.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs, and a conclusion. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help signal the change in viewpoint, so the reader can see the intended organisation. However, progression within the paragraphs is difficult to follow because several ideas are joined without clear relationships, as in “another major positive impact for peoples enough in the large cities.” Some linking phrases, including “to explain” and “keeping in view,” do not make the connection between claims clear, and the conclusion repeats the contrast rather than neatly resolving it. Use one main point per paragraph, develop it in a logical sequence, and make references and transitions more precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You attempt vocabulary related to the topic, including “tall apartments,” “large cities,” “merits,” and “demerits,” and you try to use formal expressions such as “in the light of above discussion.” However, the range is basic and often repetitive, while frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word choices make parts of the response hard to understand. Examples include “controvirsial,” “numerious,” “noice appartment,” and “effected sharpe rise.” Several phrases also do not express a clear meaning, such as “followers it has benefit themself.” Build a reliable set of topic vocabulary and check spelling, word forms, and collocations; choose straightforward, accurate wording rather than formal phrases you cannot control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You make some attempts to form longer sentences, including the opening contrast beginning “while some…” and the conditional “if situation is not improved.” However, sentence structures are very limited in control, and frequent errors in sentence formation, agreement, articles, and punctuation sometimes distort meaning. For example, “some seen to be convinced of its agree” lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “many tall apartments have taken benefit” does not express the intended relationship accurately. Capitalisation and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses using “although,” “because,” or “if.” Check that each sentence has a clear subject and verb and that verb forms agree.
