Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You take a clear position in favour of tall apartment blocks, especially in the opening and conclusion, and you give relevant reasons such as urban migration, limited land, and the need for housing and facilities. However, the response addresses the question only partially: the discussion explains why people move to cities and lists possible apartment amenities, but it does not clearly compare tall blocks with other ways of providing homes or explain why they are the best solution. Several points remain general, and the example about rural facilities is not developed into evidence for your position. The response is also two words below the required minimum. Develop one or two reasons with specific explanation or an example, and make the argument about tall buildings more direct.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, so there is some basic organisation. The contrast markers “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help signal paragraph roles, and the ideas are broadly related to housing in cities. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow: the first body paragraph focuses on migration and urban services, while the link to tall apartment blocks is not made explicit. Connectors such as “as well as,” “for example” and “in the result” are sometimes used inaccurately or mechanically, and several sentences run together without clear punctuation. The final sentence is incomplete, which weakens the ending. Use clearer topic sentences, explain how each point supports your position, and make each paragraph’s sequence of ideas easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “urbanisation,” “migrants,” “shelter,” “facilities” and “electricity supply.” This gives you some means of discussing city growth and housing. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes meaning difficult to understand. Examples include “number of migrants are migrate,” “homes or apartment are remained,” and “benefacial for our contempory society.” Spelling errors such as “substancial,” “opprtunities” and “aprtment” also reduce clarity. Aim to use a smaller set of accurate topic phrases, such as “housing shortage,” “high-rise apartment buildings” and “accommodate residents,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to express reasons and consequences using longer structures, for example, “due to urbanisation we face lack of land consequences” and the sentence beginning “for example.” However, sentence structures are limited and attempts at complex sentences are often faulty. Errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction occur frequently, as in “number of migrants are migrate,” “Urbanisation is increased,” and “everyone needs shelter for live with family.” Some sentences are difficult to interpret because clauses are joined without clear punctuation, and the final sentence is unfinished. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses using “because,” “which” or “so.” Check subject–verb agreement and verb patterns before submitting.
