Student answer (Band 5.5)

To provide enough residence in the giant urban areas the excellent method is to creat high-rise-buildings. I totally agree with the statement. Because of rising population challange in the developing and under developing countries. Also, day by day the shortage of empty land in the town area in increasing.

First of all, if we takh about the increasing population of many nations, we can see that most of the population migrates from countryside to urban areas. That increasing migration make a huge impant on many cities. As a result, it becomes a greater crysis of accomodation. people want better lifestyle with better job opportunity and easy acess to markets, shoping molls and administrative areas. They want city life rather than rural lifestyle. So, to provide everyone the is no other choise rather then making towers.

Morever, the decreasing of empty land area on cities also had a grater impact. Because day by day all the lands in the uraban areas are sold out or alraedy had a building. As a result its essential to have high-ride-bulding on the cities to provide everyone enough accomodation. It is a grat idea to bild tower for everyone accomodation.

Desprite all, there are some disadvantages of high-rise-building because of its tall structure. During the earthquic it can be very dangerious. But after all its not so bad, because nowdays buildings are made with high-tech materials which are very strong and resistance.

In the end i think building tall building is very smart idea for large population accomodation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the opening—“I totally agree”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You give relevant reasons: population movement from rural areas increases demand, while limited available land makes vertical construction practical. You also acknowledge a drawback, earthquake risk, and respond by referring to stronger modern materials. These points address the question, but some are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the claim that there is “no other choice” is too absolute, and the earthquake response would be stronger with a clearer explanation of how building standards reduce risk. Develop each reason with a specific example or consequence to make the argument more convincing.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall structure: an introduction, two paragraphs supporting your view, a paragraph acknowledging a disadvantage, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “First of all,” “As a result,” and “In the end” help readers follow the main stages. However, some linking is mechanical, and the relationship between ideas is occasionally unclear. The opening uses sentence fragments beginning “Because of” and “Also,” while the second body paragraph repeats the point about limited land and the need for towers without adding much development. Group related ideas more tightly, use clearer references, and make each paragraph advance the argument rather than restate it.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to urban housing, including “population,” “migration,” “accommodation,” and “administrative areas,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make the writing less precise, such as “crysis,” “acess,” “shoping molls,” and “high-ride-bulding.” Some combinations are also unnatural, including “provide everyone enough accommodation” and “empty land area on cities.” Aim to learn accurate topic-specific phrases and check spelling carefully. More precise wording would help you explain housing demand, land scarcity, and construction safety without relying repeatedly on “building” and “tower.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional phrasing (“if we…”) and cause-and-effect structures (“As a result…”). The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in sentence construction and grammatical control are frequent enough to affect clarity. For instance, “Because of rising population…” is an incomplete sentence, and “That increasing migration make a huge impact” has a subject–verb agreement error. There are also problems with articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries, as in “building tall building is very smart idea.” Practise forming complete sentences and checking agreement and articles; then vary sentence patterns while keeping each clause accurate.
