Student answer (Band 4.5)
Here we will discuss about the best way to provide enough homes in large cities is to build tall appartment blocks.
Every decision has its positive and negative effects. Provision of enough homes in larger cities by building tall appartment blocks is a good decision. In my perspective if we build tall buildings in order to provide homes to people maybe a good decision because people will learn to live in harmony. Much area will also not be used to build separate homes for sepaate families. But if people want to live together they should know how to respect eachother's privacy.
I do agree to this but i think that living in a building would disturb everyone's privacy. Living in a separate house is more comfortable than living in a tall building.
The reason for my answer is that i personally live in a hostel and it is so disturbing living with all those people around me 24/7. I enjoy living at my own house where i have my privacy and no interference from others.
The government should build buildings with appartments but they should also teach people to live with peace and not to disturb anyone's privacy. Eveyone should mind their own business while living with love and harmony at the same place.
Constructing such tall buildings with appartment blocks will provide much ease to the people who cannot afford a big home for themselves they can just rent an appartment in that building and live there without any disturbance.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You give a clear, though somewhat qualified, position: you agree that apartment blocks can provide homes, while noting concerns about privacy and preferring a separate house. The points about using less land and renting an affordable apartment are relevant, but they are asserted rather than explained with specific examples or fuller reasoning. Your personal experience in a hostel supports your concern about shared living, although it does not fully show why tall blocks are the best way to address housing shortages. The response also does not meet the 250-word minimum: it contains 237 words, and 14 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop the housing argument more fully and explain how design or management could reduce privacy concerns.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The response has a basic sequence: it introduces the issue, gives advantages and disadvantages, explains your personal experience, and ends with a recommendation. However, the progression is not consistently clear. The opening repeats the task, and the relationship between your agreement and your concern that apartment living is less comfortable could be explained more directly. Several ideas are placed together in long paragraphs, while the final point about affordable renting arrives after the conclusion-like recommendation. Linking phrases such as “But” and “The reason for my answer” help signal relationships, but the connections can feel mechanical. Use separate paragraphs for your position, supporting reasons, and conclusion, and make each paragraph develop one main point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough basic vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “privacy,” “harmony,” “separate homes,” and “afford.” Some topic-related phrases, such as “tall apartment blocks,” are appropriate, but the range is limited and several expressions are repetitive or imprecise. For example, “provide much ease” does not clearly express the benefit, and “live with peace” is an unnatural phrase in this context. Spelling errors such as “appartment,” “sepaate,” and “Eveyone” are noticeable and reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise housing vocabulary and check spelling carefully. Replacing repeated general words with terms such as “housing supply,” “high-rise flats,” and “affordable accommodation” would help express your ideas more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and the main message is generally understandable. However, errors occur frequently, particularly in sentence construction, articles, and capitalization. The opening, “Here we will discuss about the best way … is to build,” is not a well-formed sentence; a clearer structure would be “This essay discusses whether building … is the best way.” In “In my perspective if we build tall buildings … maybe a good decision,” the conditional clause lacks a clear main clause and the verb “is.” Lowercase “i” appears repeatedly, and “I do agree to this” uses an awkward grammatical pattern. Practise building complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and check articles and punctuation. More accurate control of these patterns would make your reasoning easier to follow.
