Student answer (Band 4.5)

In this contemporary era, many people wants to buy a home in big cities. I partially agree with this statement that there is a best way to provide enough homes in metropolis is to construct tall residential blocks. Although, it can be the way to provide sufficient residents in bigger cities but there are also many ways to gave the individuals a accomodations in metropolis.

In today's world, individuals buy accomodations depending on many factors like the location, food, parking facilities, space of the home and the convinient budget. The apartments should have the facilities that every individuals want. It is very important to build residential block according to the ethical and modern perceptions.

On the other hand, the major aspect to highlight in this situation is budget because in this era because day by day the prices are increasing. Everyone can not

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You state a partial position, saying tall residential blocks can help but that there are “also many ways” to provide accommodation. However, the response does not explain what those alternatives are or develop the advantages and disadvantages of high-rise housing. The points about location, food, parking, space and budget are only listed; they are not connected clearly to whether tall blocks are the best solution. The final sentence begins a point about rising prices but stops before explaining it. The response is also substantially below the required 250 words, so it cannot provide the reasons, examples and development needed to address the task. To improve, explain your position fully, support each main reason with an example, and complete the discussion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: the opening introduces your view, a second paragraph discusses housing preferences, and “On the other hand” signals a contrasting point. These markers show some awareness of paragraphing and progression. However, the ideas do not develop in a clear sequence: the list of facilities is not linked to the argument about tall buildings, and the final paragraph ends mid-sentence. Some connections are also awkward, such as “Although, it can be the way … but,” where the contrast is expressed twice. Build each paragraph around one clear reason, explain how it supports your position, and use linking phrases only where they accurately show the relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “residential blocks,” “metropolis,” “accommodations,” “facilities” and “budget,” which helps establish the subject. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “ethical and modern perceptions.” However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural: “provide sufficient residents” appears to mean provide housing, while “gave the individuals a accomodations” is an awkward expression. “Food” is unclear as a housing feature, and “contemporary era” and “in today’s world” repeat a general opening idea. Spelling errors such as “convinient” and “accomodations” also reduce control. Aim for precise housing collocations and avoid using formal-sounding phrases unless their meaning is clear.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in “Although, it can be the way …” and a longer sentence describing factors people consider. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur in basic agreement and sentence construction. For example, “many people wants” should use a plural verb, and “every individuals want” has a mismatch between the determiner and noun. The opening claim also contains an incomplete or confusing structure: “I partially agree … that there is a best way … is to construct.” The final sentence, “Everyone can not,” is unfinished. Practise building complete sentences with one clear main clause, then check subject–verb agreement, articles and plural forms.
