Student answer (Band 5.5)
There is a comman belief that, if we need to accommodate large numbers of houses in a big cities and towns we need to construct big buildings. In my views i totally agree with this statement.
On one hand ,we all know that our population is contineously increasing day by day and becase of that there is need of constructing more and more numbers of house to meet the requirements. Constructing tall buildings and towers helps to accommodate large numbers of homes in one tower and it also save lot of space which helps to build another towers at that place. This also help builder to construct buildings in a faster way and the most important thing is it can accumalate so many peolple at one place or tower. For examples their are many big towers has been constructed in many cities and country like China,Dubai,Singapore and many other countries. In fact china and Japan has built mini cities and town centers above towers by connecting the towers to each other.
While on the other hand if ,people will construct small houses or towers in a particular land then it will creat problems like low accommodation facility, if house willbe less then its price will also increased to , which affect on peoples income and purchasing power.which leads to other problems , even today because of shortage of housing facility and expensive homes, many people lives on streets or some stays in their car by converting them in small caravan .
Lastly to conclude , i strongly agree that big towers are very important to provice large and enough number of housing facility in large cites.Because small apartement can not fullfill the requirement of enough number of homes in large cities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction—“I totally agree”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You give relevant reasons, including the efficient use of limited urban land and the possibility of accommodating many residents in one building. The contrast with small houses and the example of housing shortages also address the topic. However, some points are asserted rather than explained: for instance, the claim that towers can be built faster is not supported, and the references to China and Japan creating “mini cities” above towers are too general to show how this supports your argument. Develop fewer examples in more detail and explain why tall blocks are the best solution compared with other approaches.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting supporting points, and a conclusion. The contrast signalled by “On one hand” and “While on the other hand” helps readers follow the argument, and the main ideas are generally presented in a sensible order. However, the linking is sometimes mechanical, and the second body paragraph begins with a confusing combination of “While on the other hand if”. Several ideas are crowded into long sentences, particularly the discussion of housing costs and people living in cars, while punctuation and spacing make boundaries unclear. Use clearer topic sentences, divide complex points into shorter units, and make each paragraph’s relationship to your position explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “accommodate,” “population,” “housing facility,” “purchasing power,” and “shortage,” so the reader can understand the central argument. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive. Phrases such as “large numbers of houses,” “save lot of space,” and “accumulate so many people” do not express the ideas naturally; “homes,” “use less land,” and “house many residents” would be more suitable. Spelling errors such as “comman,” “contineously,” and “acummalate” also make the writing less controlled. Build a bank of accurate housing and urban-planning collocations, and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “if we need to accommodate…” and a cause-and-effect sentence beginning “which leads to other problems.” This shows some range, and your main meaning is usually understandable. However, there are some recurring errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries. For example, “in a big cities” should be “in big cities,” “it also save” needs “it also saves,” and “many people lives” should be “many people live.” Some sentences run together, such as the final sentence of the second body paragraph, and punctuation around clauses is inconsistent. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and separating complete sentences with appropriate punctuation.
