Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You state a clear position—“i completely agree”—and give relevant reasons: tall buildings use limited land and can place residents near transport and services. However, the response addresses the task only partially because these points are asserted rather than explained or supported in enough detail. The example of towers accommodating “hundreds of residents” is relevant, but it needs a specific illustration or explanation of how this makes them the best solution. You also do not consider any limitations or alternatives, which would help develop your argument. The response is 142 words, below the required 250, so there is not enough material to develop the reasons fully. Extend each main point with explanation and a relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs beginning with “To begin with” and “moreover,” and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify your main reasons, and the ideas generally relate to the topic. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and some links between ideas are unclear. For example, the sentence beginning “moreover, constricting high rise buildings near urban centres” does not clearly connect the location of buildings to the benefits that follow. The conclusion repeats the main claim without drawing the reasons together. Develop a clearer sequence in each paragraph—make a point, explain it, then give an example—and use linking expressions only where they accurately show the relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “housing shortages,” “vertical development,” “high density housing,” “land utilization,” and “public transport connectivity.” These choices show an attempt to discuss urban planning rather than relying entirely on basic words. However, the range is limited, and several inaccurate or awkward expressions make parts of the argument difficult to understand, such as “constricting high rise buildings,” “allows of residents,” and “easily reach them to their workplace.” There are also spelling and word-form errors, including “fecilities.” Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling: for example, describe “constructing high-rise buildings” and say that transport “allows residents to reach workplaces easily.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including a reason-and-result structure with “as numerous families can live in one structure.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. Examples include the missing verb in “The best way … to adopt,” the agreement error in “high rise buildings allows,” and the faulty construction “it's helps.” Several sentences begin with lowercase letters after full stops, and the final paragraph uses the incomplete phrase “in conclude.” These problems make some relationships between ideas harder to follow. Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, checking singular/plural agreement, and using accurate sentence boundaries. Then add a few controlled complex sentences to explain your reasons.
