Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some people think building tall building like apartments can give sufficent homes for people in big cities. I think the people who live in big cities are mostly efford the living expenses but people who move from small towns to cities may not efford that expenses and needed to more homes for the people this is one of the best option to get enough.

The tall building may give people enough homes but all can not efford those blocks mainly people from the towns and villages. The big cities have high expenses based on the servies they provide in that regions. for example the people from low living areas migrate for the jobs and healthcare they get from the cities.

People needed homes to live becuse this large cities contain high number of population so, they should have the enough house to live where this tall building can help to slove the problem. Most of them perfer to live in cities for example, because of their perferance they live in apartments which help them in all sourses.

In conclusion, the people who want live cities they are most of their reasons are services they get in big cities so, The tall apartment blocks can help in proividing enough homes for them but with lower expenses can help people live better. As per my opinion having tall build is good for some exptent not totally perfect

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You address the topic and give a qualified position: tall apartment blocks can help provide homes, but you argue they are not a complete solution unless costs are lower. This is relevant, and you mention population pressure and people moving to cities for jobs and healthcare. However, the response only partially develops the question of whether this is the best way to provide enough homes. The affordability point is repeated, but there is little explanation of how high-rise housing could be made accessible or what alternatives might work. The example about migrants is also general rather than specific. The response is 15 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop your reasons. Add a clear, sustained position and explain each main point with a concrete example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The paragraphs broadly relate to affordability, housing demand and the role of apartments, so the reader can follow the general topic. However, progression between ideas is not always clear. For example, the first paragraph moves from city residents’ expenses to people moving from towns and then to the need for more homes without clearly connecting these points. Linking phrases such as “for example” and “so” are used, but sometimes the relationship between the clauses remains unclear. The conclusion repeats earlier points rather than bringing the argument together. Give each paragraph one main purpose, use clearer transitions between claims and explanations, and make references such as “they” and “those” unambiguous.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “tall apartment blocks,” “population,” “migrate,” “healthcare” and “living expenses,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “people,” “cities” and “homes.” Frequent spelling and word-choice errors sometimes make the meaning difficult to understand, as in “sufficent,” “efford,” “servies,” “perferance” and “sourses.” Some expressions are also unnatural, such as “low living areas” and “all sources.” Aim to learn accurate collocations for housing and urban development, and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would help you explain affordability, housing demand and the benefits or drawbacks of high-rise construction without relying on repeated general terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the response includes some basic linking structures, such as “because” and “which.” However, the range is limited, and attempts to combine several ideas often produce faulty sentence structures. For example, “The big cities have high expenses based on the services they provide in that regions” has problems with agreement and sentence construction, while “the people who want live cities they are most of their reasons” is difficult to follow grammatically. Errors also occur with articles, verb forms and plural forms, as in “needed to more homes” and “the enough house.” Punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly connected supporting clause before attempting longer structures.
