Student answer (Band 5.5)
The best way to provide enough homes in comtemporary society such as now, is to build tall buildings. I strongly agree with this statement as bigger buildings will be able to provide more housing facilites.
Presently the whole world is facing the problems of over-population.Due to over-population, shelter, being one of the basic needs of humans goes unfullfilled. Especially in large cities, many people cannot afford the high rent . And if they have money for rents, then there aren't enough homes to accomodate all of them. As a result steps must be taken to eradicate this homelessness problem from our society.
One of the ways to remove the curse of homelessness, is making bigger apartment blocks.Apartment blocks has 2 or more units in between which can provide shelter to 2 or more families. So bigger apartment blocks results in more units or rooms. Which results in providing homes to poeple. That's why taller apartments blocks are needed.
Every big cities of the world have tall apartment blocks, colonies and skyscrapers. For example tokyo of japan, New York of USA, Sydney of Australia and such. These cities all have one thing in common. Tall apartment blocks. These blocks provide not only homes to people but also act as office spaces thus also providing employment opportunities.
I strongly believe that investing in projects such as tall building complexes will bear fruits. They are a must if we want to provide our people with enough homes.Despite the economic challenges of making such apartment blocks, we must endure these obstacles and move forth.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear: you strongly agree that tall apartment blocks can help provide enough homes, and you give relevant reasons, including population pressure and examples of large cities. However, the response addresses the issue only partially because the central claim that this is the “best way” is not compared with alternatives or examined in much depth. The explanation that larger blocks create more units is relevant, but the point about office space and employment does not directly show how housing supply improves. The conclusion repeats your view without adding support. The response is also two words below the required minimum; the eight words copied from the task prompt are not counted. Develop the argument with specific evidence and address possible limitations or alternatives.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two supporting paragraphs, and a conclusion. The progression from population pressure to apartment blocks and then city examples is generally easy to follow. You also use linking expressions such as “As a result,” “For example,” and “Despite.” However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For instance, “So bigger apartment blocks results in more units or rooms. Which results in providing homes to people” breaks one idea into an incomplete sentence and repeats “results.” The examples paragraph also moves from housing to employment without a clear link to the main argument. Use complete sentences, vary transitions, and make each paragraph develop one connected point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “over-population,” “homelessness,” “apartment blocks,” and “economic challenges,” which helps communicate the subject. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “eradicate this homelessness problem.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “housing facilites,” “remove the curse of homelessness,” and “bear fruits.” Spelling errors such as “comtemporary,” “unfullfilled,” “accomodate,” and “poeple” are noticeable and reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, natural expressions rather than dramatic phrases, and proofread spelling carefully. More specific vocabulary about housing supply, density, affordability, and urban planning would help you express the argument with greater precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a cause-and-effect sentence beginning “Due to over-population” and a concession in “Despite the economic challenges…”. The main ideas are usually understandable, but grammatical control is uneven. There are agreement errors in “Apartment blocks has” and “Every big cities,” and the fragment “Which results in providing homes to people” cannot stand as a complete sentence. Some punctuation also disrupts sentence boundaries, as in “over-population.Due” and “rooms. Which.” Articles and sentence construction need more consistent control. Practise combining related ideas into complete sentences and checking subject–verb agreement, plurals, and punctuation. This will let you use complex structures more reliably.
