Student answer (Band 5.5)
The most efficient way to give houses in the bigger cities is to construct large apartments blocks vertically instead of expanding it to ground. I am very much agree with this idea because everyone wants to move to large cities where they can find a better life style and opportunities. To meet the living needs of this much proportion we have to build tall apartment blocks so we can save the space. If we build these kind of apartments instead of living 5 people, hundreds of people can live in the same ground space as 5 people house which will be just single or double story bulding. The other reason of building tall apartment blocks is that it will be cheaper than buying or renting a single whole house.
We have to build large and tall apartment blocks in big cities so we can save the ground space. If we don't build large apartment blocks it will cover more area and there will be not enough space for incoming people who wants to settle in. For example, in my village there is about 15 kanals area but only 6 houses have been built there. They didn't utilize that much area in a better way. In future, when their children grew up and want to build their own houses to live but there will be no space for them.
Also, in the large apartment blocks there are much cheaper options to live so it significantly reduces the living expense. Because in that kind of space there will be less land used to built the apartment and many people can live in one building instead of single or double storey building. Let's suppose if 5 members of family wants to move to big city, they have to buy an land to build a house to live which will be very costly. Instead of buying land or build a house they can buy a great furnished apartment in any block which also meet their need and save the land area.
In conclusion, I totally agree with building tall apartment blocks in big cities to provide enough homes. It saves the land space to further build more houses and can be a cheaper option in any way.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear throughout: you strongly agree that tall apartment blocks are an effective way to provide homes in large cities. You give relevant reasons, especially conserving land and reducing housing costs, and the example about limited space in your village helps illustrate the land-use point. However, the response only partly develops the task. The village example concerns a small settlement rather than a large city, and the claim that apartments are cheaper is asserted more than explained; for instance, the comparison with buying land could be supported with a clearer account of how apartment living lowers costs. Develop each reason with more directly relevant evidence and consider a limitation or condition, such as the need for good transport and services.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the land and cost arguments, and a conclusion that restates your view. This makes the main line of reasoning understandable. However, progression is somewhat repetitive: the idea that tall buildings save land appears in the introduction and again at the start of the second paragraph, while the final body paragraph repeats that many people can live in one building. Some links are also mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “Also” and “For example.” The relationship between the village example and housing in large cities could be made clearer. Give each paragraph a distinct focus, use referencing and transitions more selectively, and connect examples explicitly to the urban issue.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main points, including “apartment blocks,” “ground space,” “living expense,” and “settle in.” The meaning is generally recoverable, but the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, which reduces precision. For example, “give houses” does not naturally express providing housing, “large apartments blocks” has an awkward form, and “expand it to ground” is unclear. There are also spelling errors such as “bulding,” alongside repeated use of “build” and “space.” Aim for more precise housing and urban-planning vocabulary, and check collocations and spelling. The suggestions below offer alternatives that fit your argument more naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and the overall meaning can usually be followed. However, complex structures are often inaccurate, and errors recur in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence construction. For example, “I am very much agree” should be “I very much agree,” while “people who wants” needs subject–verb agreement. In “if 5 members of family wants,” both the article and verb form need correction; “they have to buy an land” also shows an article error. Some sentences join ideas awkwardly, such as the opening sentence’s comparison between building vertically and expanding “it.” Practise checking each clause for a clear subject and verb, and use a wider range of sentence patterns with more reliable control.
