Student answer (Band 5.5)
The better plan to provide enough homes in the developed cities is to construct tall apartment buildings. This essay agree with the statement becuase more people are moving towards the larger cities for better lifestyle and by this way, land good for agriculture can also be saved from unplanned construction of homes in very large number.
The building of the multiple apartment blocks can provide enough homes to more people in larger cities. As more people from villages and small towns are shifting to the larger cities for better opportunities and facilitated lifestyle. So more land will be required to occupy them, and due to unplanned township and developements the agriculatural land might be used for the construction of home. This will effect the natural environment in terms of removal of trees and unplanned might building of home might decrease of land for agriculture. For example, more township might lead to cutting of more plants from the sorrounding which will lead to climate change in the city.
In constrast, building taller apartments can be efficent in occupying more families in lesser area.Providing the homes to the people with much more facilities like security and better opportunities in the larger cities. These can also be beneficial in terms of cheaper pricing than the construction of solo home, which might be difficult for new families. For example prices of apartment in blocks is much more affordable than builing the whole multiple portion house.
In conclusion, to provide sufficent homes in larger cities the suitable way is to build tall apartment block which can give place to more people that are moving
to cities for better life. This way the effect on agriculatural land can be minimized and it is also appropriate in terms of expenses for building the house.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree that tall apartment blocks are an effective way to provide homes, and you give relevant reasons involving urban migration, land use, affordability and facilities. The examples about agricultural land and apartment prices help connect your argument to the question. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the link between apartment construction and protecting farmland is not made precise, and the claim that apartments offer “better opportunities” needs clarification. The environmental point about tree removal also focuses on the effects of urban growth generally, rather than showing specifically how tall blocks address them. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation or a more concrete example to make the response more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting supporting points, and a conclusion that restates your view. This gives the argument an overall coherent arrangement. You also use linking expressions such as “For example,” “In contrast,” and “In conclusion.” However, the contrast paragraph does not present an opposing view; it adds another reason in favour, so “In addition” would express the relationship more accurately. Some connections within paragraphs are unclear, particularly the sequence from migration to land demand and then environmental effects. Repeated references to “larger cities” and “more people” also make progression feel mechanical. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each explanation directly to the point it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of relevant vocabulary, including “apartment blocks,” “agricultural land,” “unplanned construction,” “facilities,” and “affordable,” which allows you to discuss housing and urban growth. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “in terms of” and “suitable way.” However, inaccurate word choice, collocation and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make ideas less clear. Examples include “facilitated lifestyle,” “solo home,” “multiple portion house,” and “climate change” where the intended environmental effect is not clearly specified. Spelling errors such as “becuase,” “developements,” and “sorrounding” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural combinations such as “access to a better lifestyle” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning with “As” and explanations linked with “which.” The overall meaning is generally recoverable, but some grammatical errors recur and occasionally make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “This essay agree” needs subject–verb agreement, while “As more people … shifting” is an incomplete sentence and should be joined to a main clause. In “These can also be beneficial,” the reference of “These” is unclear, and several sentences run together without appropriate spacing or punctuation. Work on complete sentence structure, agreement, articles and sentence boundaries. More accurate control of these patterns would make your argument easier to read.
