Student answer (Band 6.0)
In large cities, apartment building blocks are convinenet and effective way of utilising land to provide enough homes to citizens. I would agree to this statment strongly more that I would disagree on the bases of many factors. These factors include effective land utilization, convinence to city life and work, and in some cases community development.
As the population of the world increases constantly, civilization and literacy rates are rising as well. The problem we face in this case is the urbanisation of few cities in most countries leaving rural areas less developed. This poses the risk of rular to urban migration significantly for reasons such as better job opportunities or living conditions. The difficulty of housing the increasing population in most cities is often adressed with tall apartment bulildings. For instance in the past few years in the capital city of Ethiopia, the development of many private and governmental real estates with apartment buildings is noticeable. Most of the population currently resides in these houses. This was not a development that occured by chance; it was meant to address the growing number of people looking for homes in the city.
The city is occupied by various facilities and centers for trades and entertainment. Therefore building a house in a limited space for many people will required a wise usage of land and finance managment, which makes apartment buildings a better choice. Life on the outskirts of the city might strip people off social life and increase desatisfaction. Since social life is one of the important factors in a good community, housing people in the city in a less private structure is one of the advantages of apartment blocks.
In conclusion, although apartment blocks might be less private and a result of convinence, they do serve as an effective and efficent way of living in the city while bypassing the effects of increased population, decreased land mass and in some cases avoiding higher financial expenses on a single house.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you strongly support tall apartment blocks, and the response gives relevant reasons, including efficient land use, access to city life and work, and the example of housing development in Addis Ababa. The example helps connect your argument to a real context. However, the reasons are not developed equally. The discussion of urban migration and housing demand is more fully explained, while the claim that apartment living supports community life is asserted rather than illustrated. The conclusion also introduces reduced financial costs without explaining this point in the body. To strengthen the response, explain how each reason demonstrates that tall blocks are the best way to provide enough homes, and support the community and cost claims with specific examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your position, two body paragraphs present supporting reasons, and a conclusion restates your view. Ideas generally progress from population growth and housing demand to land use and city life. Linking phrases such as “For instance,” “Therefore,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The opening body paragraph moves from literacy rates to urbanisation without showing how literacy relates to the housing argument, and “These factors” in the introduction is followed by points that are not all developed later. Improve progression by keeping each paragraph focused on one reason and making the relationship between claims explicit. Clearer links between the example and the point it supports would also help.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “urbanisation,” “rural to urban migration,” “job opportunities,” “facilities,” and “land utilization.” These choices communicate the main ideas and show an attempt to use more specific language than basic everyday terms. However, spelling errors and inaccurate or unnatural collocations are noticeable, for example “convinenet,” “adressed,” “real estates,” and “strip people off social life.” Some wording is also imprecise, such as “decreased land mass,” which does not clearly describe limited available urban land. These issues do not prevent understanding, but they reduce precision and naturalness. Check spelling carefully and learn common word partnerships, such as “real-estate developments” and “restrict access to social life.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “although apartment blocks might be less private” and a relative clause in “a development that occured by chance.” Most sentences remain understandable, and the main argument can be followed. Some grammatical errors nevertheless recur. For example, “will required” should use the base form after “will,” and “building a house … for many people” does not fit the plural subject and meaning as clearly as “building homes.” There are also issues with articles and sentence construction in “apartment building blocks are … effective way” and “a result of convinence.” Work on subject–verb patterns, articles, and consistent singular/plural forms, then proofread each sentence to catch these errors while retaining your complex structures.
