Student answer (Band 5.0)
there are many peoples shifting vellage area to city and now there is too much papolaction and there is no more homes so i think the gov. need to build and big apartment buildind for people its the only one way to handel papolaction because if everyone take a home than home is not inuf and if the gov build tall apartment than papolaction is under control and easyily handel the all familes in a small place.
There is a only 1 negitive point this apartment you cant distroy this apartment because this is resident buildings if you have home land than you can modify everytime but in apart you cant
and the positive point is that the govt easily handel high papolation if there is a build apartment blocks there is easily live more then hundred's of faniles in a small place so im agree this this statment and this building have a gym and swimming pools and you see a beautiful city view in your apartment

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You give a clear position in favour of tall apartment blocks, stating, “im agree this this statment,” and you offer relevant reasons: they can house many families in a small area and may include facilities such as gyms and swimming pools. You also mention a drawback, that residents cannot modify an apartment as freely as a house. However, the response addresses the task only partially: these points are asserted rather than explained or supported with a specific example, and the comparison with other ways of providing homes is absent. The response is also 82 words below the required minimum, which leaves your argument notably underdeveloped. To strengthen it, explain how high-rise housing could meet urban demand and develop the drawback before reaching your conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organisation: you begin with the housing problem, then mention a disadvantage, and finish with advantages and your opinion. Basic links such as “because,” “and,” and “but” help show relationships between ideas. However, the response is presented in only two long paragraphs, and the progression is not consistently clear. The opening repeats the idea of population pressure and housing shortage, while the shift from the drawback to the benefits is abrupt. Some references, such as “this apartment,” are unclear because it is not obvious whether you mean one building or apartment living generally. Use separate paragraphs for your position, supporting reasons, and drawback, and connect each point with clear, accurate transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
Your vocabulary is basic but includes some relevant topic words, including “apartment blocks,” “population,” “families,” “gym,” and “swimming pools.” These help the reader identify your main ideas. However, the range is limited and several spelling errors make the message harder to follow, for example “papolaction,” “vellage,” and “inuf.” Some word choices and combinations are also unnatural, such as “handel papolaction” and “beautiful city view.” Aim to use accurate housing and urban-planning vocabulary, and check spelling carefully. More precise phrases such as “accommodate a growing urban population” would help you express your ideas clearly without relying on repeated basic words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences using “because,” “if,” and “than,” and you use simple present forms to state your opinion and describe apartment living. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors are frequent. For example, “if everyone take a home” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, while “if the gov build tall apartment” lacks the appropriate verb form and plural noun. The sentence beginning “There is a only 1 negitive point” also has problems with article placement and sentence construction. These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to understand. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with correctly formed clauses and use full stops to separate complete ideas.
