Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent years, the numbers of people are increasing and more homes are requried for there. Some people believe that building tall apartment blocks is best way for living. I believe the government should build some sort of tall buildings for people to live there.
One main advantage of building tall apartment blocks is that many people can live in a certain area. In commercial cities, land is too expensive and their is no space to build our own homes. However, the main advantage is that people can achieve serveral facilities such as schools, hospitals airports and many other facilities that are essential for people. Additonally many individuals came in different cities for word, it hepls the people to find more empolyment with very minimun travel.
On the other hand, living in high-rise buildings in city have some difficulty, if too much people living in a certain area may lead serveral issues such as schools, hospitals, roads blockage. However, many people have a habit to spend their much time in garden they can not survive in such small apartments. Whereas there is also no space for children to play. Although, it is not nessary for every person to live in a small homes or apartments.
In my opinion, the government should build skycraper for those people who want to live there. However, there are many people who wants to live in their homes not in apartments.
In conclusion, tall building that are locacted in cities helps more people to live there with serveral facilities that are provided in it. However, there is no need for every person to live their life in a small block.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both the benefits and drawbacks of tall apartment blocks and give a position: you support building them for people who choose this lifestyle, while recognising that not everyone wants to live in an apartment. Relevant points include making better use of expensive urban land and providing access to jobs and facilities. However, the position is not fully clear in the opening, where you say the government “should build some sort” of tall buildings, and the conclusion does not explain how this qualifies your agreement with the statement. Several ideas are also under-developed: for example, you mention pressure on schools, hospitals and roads but do not explain how high-rise construction causes or could address these problems. Develop fewer points with specific reasoning or examples and state your degree of agreement consistently.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph on advantages, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a conclusion. This helps readers identify the main stages of your argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and linking words do not always show the intended relationship. For instance, “However” introduces a benefit after the point about expensive land, while “Although” begins a sentence that does not complete a contrast. The repeated use of “However” and “there” also makes connections feel mechanical, and some references, such as “it” in “it helps the people,” are not fully clear. Organise each body paragraph around one main idea, explain it in sequence, and use linking expressions only when their logical function is clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “commercial cities,” “employment,” “high-rise buildings,” and “apartments,” so the reader can follow the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or combinations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes meaning less clear. Examples include “homes are required for there,” “achieve several facilities,” and “travel” where you appear to mean commuting. Spelling errors such as “requried,” “serveral,” “Additonally,” and “empolyment” are noticeable, while “small block” is imprecise in the conclusion. Build a more accurate set of collocations for housing and urban planning, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would help you express the advantages and drawbacks without relying on repeated general terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional idea in “if too much people living in a certain area may lead…” and a contrast introduced by “Although.” However, these attempts are often faulty, and errors in agreement, sentence structure, articles and verb forms can make the reader pause. For example, “the numbers of people are increasing” has an agreement problem; “living in high-rise buildings in city have” lacks a clear grammatical subject; and “many people who wants” has incorrect subject–verb agreement. The conditional sentence also needs a complete clause, such as “If too many people live…”. Practise building accurate complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and contrasts, checking agreement and punctuation in each.
