Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the large cities , there is a scarcity of houses. To overcome this issue , building tall aparment blocks is globally accepted idea.I am strongly agreeing to this concept. The population is increase day by day and there is no space available for making new homes.

Large cities are occupied with more corporate buildings and commercially land is acquired for making new businesses. When the public migrated to these cities , there is a shortage of houses in the cities. Moreover , the excellent way to accommodate these populace is to create new spaces for their living in tower heighted structures. Every family can own their space and prefered view to live in.

In a survey conducted in Mumbai , India is also recommend to make huge buildings to provide maximum homes to employes , scholars and business persons. They suggest to construct these homes in tall apartments blocks and maintain the daily chores with management staff which will be employed by builders.

China is the biggest country in the world in terms of population and they organized their public by provide them enough homes in tall tower like structures and facilitate them in their needs as well. Consequently , they are able to address this issue of homelessness in their country as well.

In my opinion, the land is very much expensive and it's availability at prime location is also a question mark , however , these houses are easily affordable and always available for shifting. A family of five to eight members can easily stay there and make a good household. Additionally to address the modern world issues , we should focus on smart ideas.

To conclude this , I am strong inclined towards making more houses in aparment blocks manner in tall buildings to avoid stress of living , moreover , improve living standards as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you strongly support tall apartment blocks, and you give relevant reasons, including limited urban land, high land prices and the need to house people moving to cities. The Mumbai and China examples also help illustrate your view. However, the discussion is only partly developed. For instance, you claim that tower housing can address homelessness, but do not explain how affordability, access to services or the needs of different households would be managed. The point about families of five to eight people is also asserted rather than supported. To strengthen the response, explain the benefits and limitations of high-rise housing in more detail and connect each example directly to why it is the best solution.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, supporting paragraphs and a conclusion, and the main position is generally easy to follow. Paragraphs focus on related points, such as urban land pressure and examples from India and China. However, progression between ideas is sometimes mechanical: several sentences begin with connectors such as “Moreover,” “Consequently,” and “Additionally,” without making the relationship between claims fully clear. Some references are also vague, as in “these houses” and “they,” which can leave the reader unsure what or whom you mean. Improve the flow by organising each paragraph around one developed reason, using clearer references, and making the links between evidence and your argument explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “scarcity,” “accommodate,” “prime location,” and “living standards,” and the reader can generally understand your argument. However, the range is limited by repeated general terms such as “houses,” “cities,” and “buildings,” while several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward. Examples include “commercially land,” “tower heighted structures,” and “a good household.” There are also spelling errors, such as “aparment,” “prefered,” and “employes.” These issues sometimes make the intended meaning less clear. Build a more precise range for urban housing and check spelling, word forms and natural combinations of words when revising.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional idea in “A family of five to eight members can easily stay there” and a contrast introduced by “however.” Nevertheless, errors occur frequently in sentence construction and verb forms, and some sentences are difficult to process. For example, “The population is increase day by day” has an incorrect verb form, while “When the public migrated to these cities, there is a shortage” shifts tense inconsistently. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “globally accepted idea” and the run-on “idea.I am.” Practise building accurate clauses first, then combine them with conjunctions; check tense consistency, articles, agreement and punctuation.
