Student answer (Band 5.5)

Due to the increase in populaion of the world has created the shortage of residential space. Therefore, I completely agree with the solution that tall apartment blocks should be constructed to provide enough space for living.

First of all, the tall appartment acquire less space to constructed because, if a building is already constructed to 10 storeys and we change its architecture and made it to 20 storeys. Then, double homes can be provided on the same land without any other infrastructure and land. This will be beneficial to the both, the owner and the construction company.

Secondly, having a quite large number of homes in a single place help the people to enguage with each others easily. A quite larger number of people living their will be beneficial for each others during any difficulty. The children living their have quite enough time and other childern to play games and other fun activities. A lot of facilities are provided in a single place. This will result in the employment opportunities for the people.

Due to the tall apartment in the center of the city people will live their instead of far off places to the city, that will cause a lot of problems for them. For example, going to the office and their will be chances to stuck in the traffic. The children going to school will have face same problems.

In conclusion, living in tall apartments will give lot of advantages which includes the preservation of residential land and living peacefully.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear from the introduction: you completely agree that tall apartment blocks can provide more homes, and the conclusion returns to this view. You give relevant reasons, including using the same land for more homes, access to facilities and employment, and avoiding long journeys from distant areas. However, several points are asserted rather than explained. For example, the claim that residents can help one another during difficulties is not linked clearly to the question of providing enough homes, and the benefits of facilities and employment are not illustrated with a specific example. Develop the central housing argument further and explain how each supporting point strengthens your position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two supporting paragraphs, a further point about city-centre housing, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “First of all,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the discussion moves from residents helping one another to children’s activities, facilities, and employment without showing how these ideas connect. The sentence beginning “Due to the tall apartment in the center of the city” also introduces a related but insufficiently linked point about commuting. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example explicitly to the main claim; vary linking expressions rather than relying mainly on basic sequence markers.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “residential space,” “storeys,” “infrastructure,” “employment opportunities,” and “traffic.” This gives the response enough language to communicate its main ideas. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems make the writing less natural, such as “acquire less space to constructed,” “engauge,” “each others,” and “preservation of residential land.” Repeated use of “quite,” “people,” and “problems” also reduces precision. Build a more accurate set of phrases for housing and urban planning, and check spelling carefully. Choosing more precise expressions will make your reasons clearer without requiring unnecessarily advanced vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional example about increasing a building from 10 to 20 storeys and a sentence explaining the effect of living far from the city. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For instance, “Due to the increase in populaion of the world has created” combines incompatible sentence patterns; “having a quite large number of homes … help” has subject–verb agreement problems; and “The children going to school will have face” has an incorrect verb construction. Practise building complete clauses, checking agreement and verb forms, and using punctuation to separate long ideas. Aim for accurate sentences before adding complexity.
