Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this topic we have to write about the different point of views of different peoples some people believe that it is useful to built tall apartments to provide a safe homes to peoples living in the city because of increase in the population there are different way of thinking of every society we will discuss both of them below.

Firstly, we will talk about the advantages of high buildings the first benefit of this is it help to save the space in the way high rise buildings can provide home to the large amount of families on a short space of land it is because there are different apartments place in different flours of buildings for example in Lahore there are different areas in which apartments are present which can give accommodation to more families in busy areas and another facility about high rise buildings is it finishes the problem of the shortage of houses and provide home and shelter for happy life. Moreover, those buildings provide some more advantage to there resident that is facility of lift, parking and the major is security it will be more better secure life on that buildings

Secondly, the disadvantages about living in tall apartments blocks. First of all there is no more privacy and space for live there is less space outdoor and gardens and on the other hand there is many crowd on lifts and parking which is very time consuming and the wastage of time

From my perspective and there will be separate houses for everyone because of privacy and more facilities. In conclusion i am with those who are with those houses that are on land

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You discuss both the advantages and disadvantages of tall apartment blocks and give a preference for separate houses, so the response is relevant to the question. The Lahore example also helps illustrate how apartments can accommodate many families in a limited area. However, the position is not consistently clear: the introduction says the essay will discuss different views, while the conclusion states a preference for houses without explaining fully why this outweighs the benefits of apartments. Several points, such as security and the shortage of homes, are mentioned but not developed with explanation or examples. State your degree of agreement directly and support it with a few more fully explained reasons.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph on advantages, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “Moreover,” and “Secondly” help signal the main sections. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow because several ideas are joined into long, loosely connected sentences. For example, the advantages paragraph moves from saving space to the Lahore example, housing shortages, lifts, parking, and security without clear separation or explanation. Some linking phrases are also mechanical, and the conclusion does not clearly connect the discussion to a firm answer to the question. Use shorter, focused paragraphs and make each sentence develop one main point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “high-rise buildings,” “accommodation,” “shortage of houses,” “privacy,” and “security,” which allows you to communicate the main subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, sometimes making the meaning less clear. Examples include “built tall apartments,” “different flours of buildings,” “more better secure life,” and “houses that are on land.” Repeated use of “provide,” “different,” and “facilities” also limits precision. Build a more accurate range for discussing urban housing, and check collocations and word forms when editing. More precise expressions would make your arguments clearer and more natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to use both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because” and “which.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and punctuation frequently make the reader work to understand the ideas. For instance, “it help to save the space” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “there are different apartments place in different flours” has problems with clause structure and plural forms. The opening sentence is also a run-on, combining several ideas without clear punctuation. Practise writing shorter, complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses carefully. Check verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries during proofreading.
