Student answer (Band 6.0)
Food, cloth and house are the basic needs of mankind. Due to surge in human population, it is essential to construct residence building to provide home to citizens. In my view, having tall infrastructure for resident building provides viable solution to accomodate significant numbers of migrants and citizens of the country.
To begin with, a number of people from villages and towns travel to big cities in search of better jobs. In addition to that, students from the underdeveloped areas of the country have to migrate to achieve higher education; consequently poplulation surge in the urban areas. For instance, a significant number of students have migrated to Islamabad,Pakistan from their towns and villages to enroll in universities like Quaid-e-Azam University and Islamic University. In order to accomodate, an infrastructure is required that can provide enough appartments to meet the need of the time. Furthermore, having sky high resident building will provides economic growth to the city. As home is the neccessity for foriengners the citizen can be benefited by renting out living place.
Critics contend that the high-rise appartment building will affect the beauty of the city, landscpe will become congested. In addition to that due to population growth citizens have to face traffic issues. For instance Dubai,UAE, due to over population is facing serious traffic congestion. Along with that, a huge sum of financial reserves is required to construct apartment building. However, strong legislation and adequate planning on funds allocation can provide a viable solution to the problem.
To conclude, manufacturing housing estate blocks is the need of an hour. Policy makers ought to take measure to grant funds for the construction of the building to accomodate public. In addition to that, governments should take intiative to provide facilities to smaller cities to combat with the over migration to mega cities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you support tall residential buildings as a practical way to house people moving to cities, and you also acknowledge concerns about congestion and cost. The examples of students moving to Islamabad and the possibility of renting homes help make the discussion relevant. However, the response develops the benefits more fully than the drawbacks, and some claims need clearer explanation. For example, the link between high-rise buildings and “economic growth” is asserted rather than demonstrated, while the Dubai traffic example does not explain how apartment blocks themselves cause congestion. To strengthen the response, explain the conditions under which high-rise housing works well and compare it briefly with alternatives such as expanding housing in smaller cities.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, the body paragraphs present supporting points and a counterargument, and the conclusion returns to your position. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “Furthermore,” and “To conclude” make the progression easy to follow. This coherent organisation is a strength. Some connections are nevertheless mechanical or unclear. “In addition to that” is repeated, and “Critics contend” introduces a counterpoint without clearly showing how it relates to your own position. The sentence about renting living places also needs a clearer link to the preceding claim about economic growth. Use a wider range of linking methods, and make cause-and-effect relationships explicit so the reader can follow each point without relying mainly on signposting phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of topic-related vocabulary, including “migrate,” “urban areas,” “traffic congestion,” “financial reserves,” and “funds allocation.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and you attempt more formal expressions such as “policy makers” and “viable solution.” However, inaccurate word choice, collocation and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the writing less natural. Examples include “resident building” for residential buildings, “manufacturing housing estate blocks,” and “combat with the over migration.” There are also spelling errors such as “accomodate,” “poplulation,” and “landscpe.” Build accuracy by learning common housing collocations and checking spelling; prefer direct, natural phrasing over expressions that sound formal but do not fit the context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “as,” “in order to,” and “however.” Most of the argument remains understandable, and the sentence beginning “To begin with” shows an effort to explain a cause and its consequence. Some grammatical errors persist, particularly with articles, agreement, plurals and sentence construction. For example, “the citizen can be benefited” has an incorrect verb pattern and number, while “high sky resident building will provides” combines an incorrect verb form with a singular subject. The opening list also needs parallel plural forms, and the sentence beginning “For instance Dubai” needs clearer punctuation and structure. Review subject–verb agreement and article use, then proofread complex sentences to ensure each clause is complete and correctly connected.
