Student answer (Band 5.5)
In contemporary society, housing crisis is one of the major issue among individuals. Some members of the public believes that built tall apartment to provide enough homes in a metropolitian cities. I strongly agree with the view, because apartment easily bulid in small space and it gives large accomodation as well.
On the one hand, apartments require small area to built and it gives spacious rooms, living area, balcony and you can do gardening also. For instance, in demand of land it paves way to afforestation which is not good for nature and living beings as it provides us oxygen. Moreover, houses need more space than apartments and its just a shelter for a family.
On the other hand, for privacy, safety and security people like to built their own house with attached garden, living area, garage. As compared to apartment houses are more private. House assist in provision of extra security to family, privacy and the vehicles. But for house contractors have to cut lots of trees which leads to deterioration of environment, plants and variety of animals who loss their homes in forest cutting.
In conclusion, from my perspective it is essential to build houses but not in a excessive amount. So, that we do not need to cut trees. I think by buliding tall apartment it will provide much space to live as it is benefical for human progress and the development of the nation. Authorities should take strict action on housing crisis also because it is a major concern for the country.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear in the introduction and conclusion: you support tall apartments because they use less land and can accommodate more people. You also acknowledge the appeal of houses, including privacy and security, so the response engages with both sides of the issue. However, the discussion only partly answers whether tall blocks are the best way to provide enough homes. The point about apartments offering balconies and gardening is not clearly explained, and the claim that demand for land “paves way to afforestation” appears to reverse the intended relationship. The environmental comparison is relevant but needs clearer reasoning and a specific example. Develop how high-rise construction increases housing capacity in cities, and explain why this outweighs the advantages of houses.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting considerations, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow: the first body paragraph moves from apartment space to afforestation and then to houses without making the connections clear. The second paragraph also shifts from privacy and security to environmental damage. Some references, such as “it” and “its” in “it gives spacious rooms” and “its just a shelter,” are unclear. Organise each paragraph around one main point, then explain and support it before moving to the next.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “housing crisis,” “metropolitan cities,” “privacy,” “security,” and “deterioration of environment.” This gives the response a relevant foundation, but the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the intended meaning unclear. For example, “paves way to afforestation” does not express the likely point about land development and tree loss, while “in demand of land” is not a natural phrase. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “metropolitian,” “accomodation,” and “benefical.” Aim for precise phrases such as “urban housing demand,” “high-density development,” and “reduce pressure on land,” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause with “because” and a contrast introduced by “As compared to apartment houses.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences awkward or difficult to interpret. Examples include “housing crisis is one of the major issue,” “Some members of the public believes,” and “apartments require small area to built,” which show problems with articles, agreement, and verb patterns. The sentence beginning “So, that we do not need to cut trees” is also an incomplete sentence, and punctuation around it disrupts the conclusion. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and infinitive forms, and combine ideas into complete, clearly punctuated sentences.
