Student answer (Band 5.5)
first i would have to say that in large cities it is a good idea to build tall apartment blocks actually it is a buisness of many of the people and i also agreed with that but on some other conditions it could have be a dangerous
now first i would have to talk about that if we build tall apartment blocks in large cities we can rent them and in cities the value of land is too much and it increases very fast so it is difficult for middle class families to buy their own house in large cities so they buy house or apartment om rent thats why tall apartment blocks is a good buisness in large cities in this view i agreed with that to build tall apartment blocks in large cities
on the other hand there are many reasons to disagreed with that to build tall apartment blocks in large cities first is that if the material which used in the construction of that apartment is not good it can be dangerous in future it may collapse in the event of an earthquake which is dangerous for those persons they are living in that apartment blocks they can loose their lives in such cases there could must be a fire alarming system in the apartment there could must be a parking for fire and rescue vehicles these are the such cases in which i disagreed with that
in my opinion if there are all security features are provided in apartment blocks then it is an good option and i agreed with that

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You present a relevant, qualified position: tall blocks can help meet housing demand, but only if safety is ensured. The point about expensive land and middle-class families renting is pertinent, and you also identify earthquake and fire risks. However, the response addresses the question only partially because it focuses mainly on renting as a business and construction safety, rather than explaining how high-rise housing provides enough homes compared with other approaches. Several ideas remain under-developed: for example, you mention fire alarms and access for rescue vehicles but do not explain how these measures reduce risk. Develop each reason with a clearer explanation or example, and state your degree of agreement consistently from the introduction through the conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic overall structure, moving from an argument in favour to concerns and then a conditional conclusion. Phrases such as “on the other hand” help signal the change in viewpoint. However, progression within paragraphs is limited: several points are joined into long strings, and the repeated framing “first i would have to talk about” and “these are the such cases” makes the organisation feel mechanical. Some connections are also unclear, particularly the shift from land prices to the claim that building blocks is a business. Use distinct paragraphs for each main reason, organise supporting details beneath that reason, and use clearer links to show cause and effect. This would make the argument easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “land,” “construction,” “earthquake,” “fire alarming system,” and “rescue vehicles.” However, the range is limited and several choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning less precise. For instance, “a buisness of many of the people” does not clearly express the intended point, while “parking for fire and rescue vehicles” is not the natural term for the space they need. Spelling errors such as “buisness” and “loose” are also noticeable. Build a more precise set of housing and safety terms, and check spelling and collocations so your ideas are expressed clearly and naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, including conditional structures such as “if we build tall apartment blocks” and “if the material … is not good.” However, the range remains limited, and complex sentences are often faulty. Examples include “i also agreed with that,” “it could have be a dangerous,” and “there are all security features are provided,” where verb forms or sentence structure are incorrect. Agreement and articles are also inconsistent, as in “tall apartment blocks is” and “an good option.” Capitalisation and punctuation are frequently missing, making sentence boundaries difficult to identify. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add controlled clauses using “because,” “if,” and “which”; proofread for verb forms, agreement, articles, and full stops.
