Student answer (Band 5.5)

some people believe that the most effecient method to offer suffecient homes in urbon areas is to construct large residential apartments blocks, i totally agree with this view because the construction of large buildings can save of our lands and also apartments are relitively , more offortable than individual houses.

I totaly agree with the construction of large buildings because it i can acomodate a large number of people in a very small area which save of expensive land for other important sectors. this is important in croweded areas where land is limited and expensive, For instance, the city of karachi is very populates area and full of facilities where most of the shipting from rural areas to access the facilities so there land is very limited the people adjusting very hardly. hece, the large residential buiding are very important to facilitate the citizens of karachi with sufficent housing.

similarlly, the construction of tall blocks can manimize our expences of transpotations because in crowded areas it is easy to acces educational instituts and jobs centers. availiblility of more facilities save our time and money to wast in the pathts. For example, in india , the people living in luknow are living in large residentiol buildings are mostly rich becouse they save thier icomes instead of spening in construction individual houses.additionaly, large buildings can save the land for other essential sectors like, hospitals ans schools.

in conclusion, its often argued that , the most effecient method to offer suffecient homes in urbon areas is to construct large residential apartments blocks, i totally agree with this view because the construction of large buildings can save of our lands and also apartments are relitively , more offortable than individual houses.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you agree that tall apartment blocks are an effective way to provide homes, and you give relevant reasons about using less land and reducing residents’ travel costs. The Karachi example also connects to limited land and housing pressure. However, the support is uneven and sometimes unclear. The point about transport costs is not fully explained, and the Lucknow example focuses on residents being rich and saving income rather than clearly showing how apartment blocks provide enough affordable homes. The conclusion repeats the introduction instead of drawing together the reasons. Develop each main idea with a clearer explanation and a directly relevant example to address the task more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The paragraphs broadly separate the land-use argument from the transport and facilities argument, and signposts such as “For instance,” “Similarly” and “In conclusion” help show the intended links. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow: the Karachi discussion moves from migration to limited land and then to housing without clearly connecting each step. Some linking is mechanical, and the conclusion largely repeats the opening. Use clearer topic sentences, make the relationship between each example and its claim explicit, and vary how you connect ideas so the argument develops more smoothly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “residential apartment blocks,” “limited and expensive” land, “educational institutes” and “essential sectors.” This gives you a basic range for discussing urban housing. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are frequent and sometimes make the reader pause, as in “effecient,” “urbon,” “croweded,” “manimize” and “pathts.” Several phrases are also unnatural or unclear, such as “save of our lands,” “the people adjusting very hardly” and “save our time and money to wast.” Aim to learn accurate forms and natural collocations as complete phrases, and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would make your reasons easier to understand.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “because” and “where,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in sentence structure and agreement appear in examples such as “it i can acomodate … which save,” while “the people living in large residentiol buildings are mostly rich” does not clearly express the intended relationship. There are also problems with articles, plurals and punctuation, including comma splices and sentences joined without a clear boundary. These errors sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow, which limits the effectiveness of the complex structures you attempt. Practise building one clear main clause at a time, then add subordinate clauses and check subject–verb agreement and sentence boundaries.
