Student answer (Band 5.5)
The ultmost method of creating sufficient houses in urban area is through construction of tall apartment blocks. I largely agree to this because it will help save the cost of buying some materials and it also brings about effective use of land area for better investments.
Construction of tall apartment blocks in urban area is a good method of providing sufficient houses because it will help save the cost of matrials that will not be need if tall apartment block are built. For instance, instead of just building houses like a multiple one storey building in the community, one can decide to construct tall apartments as it will help save the cost of buying materials like rods, cement etc that will be used in the contruction of foundation in a story building. Therefore, utilizing those money saved for other useful things.
Another potential reason for constructing tall apartments is that there will be availability of lands for building other thinge like tourist attraction centers, hospitals, etc. the available lands can aalso be used for agricultural purposes which will bring about planting and selling of crops within and outside of the country. This might attract investors to come to the city and invest their resources haven seen the farming and construction of a good tourist attraction center. By so doing it will benefit the government of the country and also the citizens at large.
In conclusion, Building tall apartment blocks will help prevent unnecessary spending of money on materials and also it brings about utilization of the land for other purpose.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you largely agree that tall apartment blocks can help provide housing, and you give two relevant reasons—saving construction materials and freeing land for other uses. The examples of hospitals, tourism and agriculture help connect your argument to city planning. However, the first reason is not fully convincing: you claim that high-rise construction saves materials, but do not explain why its foundations or overall construction would use less than several smaller buildings. The second paragraph also shifts from housing provision to attracting investors, without clearly showing how this solves the shortage of homes. Develop each point with a more direct explanation and a specific example, and briefly acknowledge a limitation or alternative to make your response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present separate reasons, and a conclusion restates the main position. Sequencing phrases such as “For instance,” “Another potential reason,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument. This coherent arrangement is a strength. Some links between ideas are less clear, however. In the first body paragraph, “Therefore, utilizing those money saved” is a fragment and does not clearly connect the claimed savings to a benefit. The second paragraph moves from available land to farming, investors and government benefits, so its central point becomes diffuse. Keep each paragraph focused on one main claim and use complete sentences to show how each supporting detail relates to it.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “apartment blocks,” “construction,” “materials,” “agricultural purposes” and “investors,” which allows you to discuss housing and land use. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling, word-form and collocation errors reduce precision: “ultmost,” “matrials,” “contruction,” and “availability of lands” are examples. Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “multiple one storey building” and “invest their resources haven seen.” These choices can make parts of the argument harder to understand. Build a more accurate set of collocations for urban development, such as “high-rise residential buildings,” “make efficient use of land,” and “reduce construction costs,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a reason clause beginning “because” and a conditional construction with “which will bring about.” The main ideas are generally understandable, but control is uneven, and some sentence structures are incomplete or faulty. “Therefore, utilizing those money saved for other useful things” is a fragment rather than a complete sentence. In “the available lands can aalso be used,” the clause is understandable, but the following sentence beginning “This might attract investors” leaves the connection between ideas loose. There are also agreement and article problems, for example “those money” and “in a story building.” Aim to write complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and check agreement, articles and punctuation when editing.
