Student answer (Band 5.0)

These days, people prefer to live in a big properties because they are watching other doing this. Most of the individuals thought, constructing multistory bulidings help to settle more residents in huge urban areas. I completely agree with these thinkings that making tall buildings help to provide extra space for livingbeings to get their own homes. Doing this most people come in cities for live here therefore, cities economy grow rapidly also greater employeement opportunities create.

To begin with, cities face issue which caused by over population and not enough residential area available to manage all. Roads are fill with homeless families who spend night under open skys which damage cities reputation. By building tall apartment blocks with vast range of small and large houses give space to these residents to live in it. In a recent survey, two families out of ten have no proper home or have rental properties.

Secondly, having a home in cities give families more options related to education, health and finantially. if they move to urban side their childrens get upto the mark study benefits also they esstablish businesses which provide handsome income to fullfill family requirements. City also gain economy strength which contribute in provide other advantages to citizens.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

Your position is clear: “I completely agree” that tall apartment blocks can provide more homes, and both body paragraphs relate to urban housing and city life. However, the response addresses the task only partially because the main claim is asserted more than explained. The first paragraph mentions homeless families and a survey, but does not show how high-rise construction would practically increase housing supply or address affordability. The second paragraph shifts to education, business and economic benefits without clearly linking these to the best way of providing enough homes. The response is also 45 words below the required minimum, limiting the space available to develop reasons and examples. Explain the mechanism and support each point with a specific, relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some organisation: an introductory paragraph states your view, followed by two paragraphs introduced with “To begin with” and “Secondly.” This gives the reader a basic route through the response. However, progression within paragraphs is not always clear. For example, the first body paragraph moves from overcrowded roads to homeless families, then to apartment blocks and a survey, without explaining how these points connect. The second paragraph combines education, health, business income and the city economy, so its central focus becomes difficult to follow. Some linking is also awkward, as in “therefore, cities economy grow rapidly also greater…” Use topic sentences that state one main reason, then develop it in a logical sequence with clear references and transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “multistory buildings,” “urban areas,” “residential area” and “apartment blocks,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts of the argument difficult to understand. For instance, “people prefer to live in a big properties” does not express the intended idea naturally, while “roads are fill with homeless families” and “cities reputation” are also imprecise. There are noticeable spelling errors, including “bulidings,” “employeement,” “finantially” and “esstablish.” Build a more accurate set of housing-related phrases and check spelling carefully; precise wording will make your ideas clearer and more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a clause beginning “which caused by over population” and a conditional idea beginning “if they move to urban side.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences hard to follow. Examples include “Most of the individuals thought, constructing… help,” where the verb pattern and agreement are unclear, and “By building tall apartment blocks… give space,” which lacks a clear grammatical subject. There are also problems with articles, plurals and agreement, such as “cities face issue” and “having a home in cities give families.” Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and correctly matched verb, then check articles and punctuation, especially at sentence beginnings.
