Student answer (Band 5.0)
In this essay, we discuss about the providing enough homes in large cities to build tall apartment blocks is the good way. I agree with this statement because managing a lot of houses for them is a big challenge.
We discuss about the advantages of tall buildings in large cities. There are a lots of people come from urban areas for jobs, studies and other purposes. Managing homes for them is a big challenge if, we build large building blocks many families adjust in one plot. However, if they live in different houses it will be very difficult to manage a lot of houses for them.
However, we discuss about their disadvantages, construction costs per apartment are often extremely high and it is not affordable for ordinary workers. Residence in large tower are not good for old people, if there is any problem in lift service going up is difficult task for them. Moreover, converting offices in making building is also a callenging task.
In conclusion, tall apartment blocks have advantages a lot but on the other side, it have disadvantages also. In advantage the large families setteled in one plot rather the disadvantage is that it is not good for the older people who could'nt cross all floors to come at their apartment which is located on the highest floor.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You take a position in favour of tall apartment blocks and give relevant points on both sides, including accommodating many families on one plot and difficulties for older residents when lifts fail. However, the response only partially develops the task: the benefits are stated generally, and the disadvantages of high construction costs and converting offices are not explained with examples or consequences. Your conclusion repeats the main points rather than clarifying how far you agree or weighing the arguments. The response is also 29 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop your reasoning. Extend each main idea with a specific explanation or example and state your position more precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate discussion of advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion. This gives the reader a basic route through your ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and linking phrases are sometimes mechanical or unclear. For example, “We discuss about” is repeated to introduce points, while “However” begins both the advantages and disadvantages sections without clearly showing the relationship between them. The final paragraph also repeats earlier details rather than synthesising them. Use topic sentences that identify each paragraph’s main point, then connect explanations with clear references such as “This approach” or “By contrast” to make the argument flow more naturally.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “construction costs,” “ordinary workers,” “lift service,” and “large cities,” so the main subject is generally clear. However, the range is limited and several phrases are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “managing homes for them,” “Residence in large tower,” and “converting offices in making building.” Spelling errors such as “callenging” and “setteled” also reduce accuracy. These issues sometimes make the intended meaning harder to follow, particularly in the discussion of office conversion and the conclusion. Build a more precise range for housing and urban planning, and check collocations and spelling when editing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a conditional idea in “if we build large building blocks many families adjust in one plot.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some points difficult to understand. Examples include “There are a lots of people come,” “it have disadvantages,” and “if, we build,” which show problems with sentence construction, agreement, and punctuation. Articles and plural forms are also inconsistent, as in “large building blocks” and “Residence in large tower.” Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a correctly formed subordinate clause, then check subject–verb agreement, articles, and punctuation.
