Student answer (Band 6.0)
Having accomodation these days is a really essential need, especially in large cities. Due to migration of a significant number of people to larger cities, the accomodation facilities are getting scarce. The only method through which this problem can be coped is by building tall apartment blocks, so everyone can have a habitat.
In my opinion, building tall apartment blocks is the best strategy to provide homes to everyone in the urban cities. Most importantly, this will reduce deforestation. Due to the need of provison of accomodation to everyone, trees are cut down as there is not enough area to build home. Building tall trees will not only reduce deforestation but also there will be enough area to build new educational institutes, hospitals, offices and many more. This provides residents these building near their home and there will also be more employement opportunities for the people living there.
Moreover, people come to cities for better career opportunities and to have better standards of living. If there will not be enough facilities of accomodation there, they have to move back and forth. Therefore, building tall apartments blocks is the only answer, as a lot people are shifting with there familities in cities and having accomodation problems.
While building tall accomodation blocks, some strategies should be opted. Firstly, elderly population should have the opportunity to live on lower floors, as it is really difficult for them to use stairs and sometimes even elevators. In addition to this, the building should not be that much tall that in summers it will become so hot that living there would be difficult and should be built in a way that sun do not directly facing them.
In conclusion, tall building should be the only way to provide homes to everyone as it will reduce deforestation and everyone will have better opportunities in every way. While, we should kept in mind about elder people and that the building do not directly faces sun, so there will not be any harsh conditions for the one living there.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree that tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide homes in cities, and you give relevant reasons, including reducing pressure on land and making room for services and employment. The discussion of elderly residents and building design also adds a useful qualification. However, some points are less fully developed than others. For example, the claim that high-rise housing will reduce deforestation would be stronger with a clearer explanation of how concentrating homes limits land clearance. The point about residents moving back and forth is also not fully connected to the housing argument. Develop each reason with a specific explanation or example, and make the conclusion reflect the argument rather than repeat the claim that this is the “only way.”
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction states your view, body paragraphs present reasons and practical considerations, and a conclusion restates your position. Linking expressions such as “Most importantly,” “Moreover,” and “In addition to this” help readers follow the sequence, and the ideas generally progress logically. To make the organisation more effective, ensure each paragraph develops one central point. The paragraph beginning “Moreover” shifts from career opportunities to people moving back and forth and then to families’ housing problems, so the connection between these ideas could be clearer. Some transitions, especially “Therefore,” announce a conclusion without fully showing how the preceding point supports it. Use clearer references and more explicit links between claims and explanations.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary for the topic, including “migration,” “deforestation,” “educational institutes,” and “employment opportunities.” These choices show an attempt to express ideas beyond basic terms, and the overall meaning is generally understandable. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “accommodation facilities are getting scarce,” “building tall trees,” and “facilities of accommodation.” There are also spelling errors, including “accomodation,” “provison,” and “employement,” which reduce accuracy. Aim for natural combinations such as “housing is becoming scarce” and “constructing high-rise apartment buildings.” Proofread spelling and choose precise terms consistently; for example, use “residents” or “people” rather than “habitat” when referring to those who need homes.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex structures, including cause-and-effect clauses and conditional forms, as in “Due to migration…” and “If there will not be enough facilities…”. This gives the response some variety, and the main ideas can usually be understood. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For instance, “If there will not be enough” should use a present form after “if,” while “sun do not directly facing them” has problems with agreement and verb form. “We should kept in mind” also needs the correct verb form after “should.” Review conditional patterns, subject–verb agreement, and modal constructions, then check each sentence for a complete and accurate structure.
