Student answer (Band 5.0)
The best way to provide enough homes in large cities is to build tall apartment blocks i strongly agree with this statement and i will explain it with the help of two valid reasons in the for upcoming paragraph.
To commance with, its is very good for people to live in huge cities because large cities has highest number of jobs and population come there to get a job to become a successful person in their life but it is diffult to them to come there regularly so its good for them to live in these apartments because it is available on low budgets and its easy for people to go there work on time and easily.
To elaborate with large cities are too crowded ,students come there to get higher education and learn new skills. There parents donot have much budget to buy a new home there.its also best for them. for example my uncle sent his son to karachi for higher education and my cousin bought a apartment to live in itand continue his studies.
On the other hand, sometimes these buildings falls due to natural disasters and make high number of death of civilization.
To elaborate with, these are too much crowded by people student couldnot focus on their studies and there are also lack of water in these apartments. For example last monday,i lived in lahore in an apartment it has no gas and water pipes i felt very sad.
Conclusion, its good for students and workers to live in these huge apartments but it creates disturbance when we need a peace

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You state a clear overall view—“i strongly agree”—and give relevant reasons involving workers, students, affordability and access to jobs or education. The examples about your cousin in Karachi and your experience in Lahore help make the discussion personal. However, the reasons are only partly developed: explain more clearly how building upwards provides more homes than other approaches, and connect the drawbacks of crowding, water shortages and disaster risk to your final position. The conclusion introduces “disturbance” and a need for peace but does not clearly weigh these concerns against your agreement. The response is 247 words, so it falls three words short of the 250-word minimum; the 16 words copied from the prompt are excluded.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an opening, supporting paragraphs, a counterpoint and a conclusion. The examples are placed near the ideas they illustrate, which helps the reader follow the discussion. However, progression between points is not always clear: the paragraph beginning “To elaborate with” shifts from students’ budgets to an example without fully explaining the link, and the two paragraphs about disadvantages overlap in their focus on crowding. Linking phrases such as “To commence with” and “On the other hand” provide some signposting, but several are repetitive or do not accurately describe the relationship between ideas. Use clearer topic sentences and develop one main point at a time, with references that make connections explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “apartment blocks,” “higher education,” “natural disasters” and “lack of water.” These choices make the main subject and several supporting points understandable. However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations are noticeably inaccurate, such as “highest number of jobs,” “low budgets,” “a high number of death of civilization” and “creates disturbance.” Spelling errors, including “commance,” “diffult” and “donot,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise phrases that express the intended meaning, such as describing housing as affordable or saying that a building collapse can cause many deaths. Check spelling and word forms carefully, especially in key topic vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to combine ideas using clauses and reasons, for example in “because large cities has highest number of jobs” and “because it is available on low budgets.” These attempts show some willingness to write beyond short, simple sentences. However, the range is limited, and frequent errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles and punctuation sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “large cities has,” “There parents donot have much budget,” “these buildings falls,” and the run-on construction “my cousin bought a apartment to live in itand continue his studies.” Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly connected supporting clause. Also check subject–verb agreement, article use, sentence boundaries and capitalisation.
